    any left handed models?
    A shopper on Aug 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in this electric guitar. If these sell as well as we hope we will do left handed model, for now we do not have lefties available.
Are the pickups Alnico or Ceramic and how is the output?
    A shopper on Jun 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in Indio electric guitars. The pick-ups for all Indio guitars are ceramic with moderate output levels with an emphasis on warm tone.
Is there any ETA when these will be available for purchase?
    David T on Jun 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in Indio electric guitars. We just announced all Indio models will be live 7/31. Be sure to sign up for the waiting list so you are contacted when they go live.
How thick is the quilted Maple top?
    Richard G. B on Oct 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The entire guitar body is about 1 7/16" thick, but the bindings make it difficult to tell the thickness of the Maple top veneer. I wouldn't try to refinish it, there might not be enough veneer to sand away.
I really like the appearance of the quilted maple top in the advertisement. However, when I read the reviews for the quilted top guitar, several people were very disappointed with the appearance of the top. (and others loved the appearance of the guitars that they purchased.) I also noticed that Monoprice offers a 30 day money back guarantee. If I were to order one of these and found the appearance of the top to be lacking, would the money back guarantee apply?
    New User U on May 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The photo looks amazing, but my guitar was more subdued, darker with less grain, but still beautiful finish all across
the guitar. I am not dissatisfied. I'm upgrading pick ups, nut, maybe bridge, but a great guitar. Amazing quality for the price..
Could this guitar be configured for a lefty?
    A shopper on Feb 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can play this guitar Jimi Hendrix style if you want. You will need a guitar tech to install a left-handed nut and set up the bridge for lefty stringing. We are working on a possible lefty model for the holidays this year.
Exactly what picksups are in this guitar and what capacity are the pots?
    A shopper on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The pick-ups on this 66 DLX are our own design. Voiced for warmth and sustain while maintaining articulation throughout the scale range. The pots are standard humbucking 500k volume and tone pots, with .022 caps.
When will this be available in a color other than red or this "black"?
    john n on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in the new Indio DLX guitars. Indio 66 DLX is available in Honey Burst and Trans Black for now. We will introduce new colors or switch colors every year or two.

    Nice body, poor electronics
The woodwork and finish are flawless. The setup was close, the neck straight but the action was too low. Adjusting the setup was straight forward. The electronics are not on a par with the body and neck quality. The pickups produce a harsh tone and the volume and tone controls are connected in serial instead of parallel, so that when selecting the middle position if one of the volume controls is off all the sound is off. I intend to replace the pickups with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers. Completing that it will be an instrument worth playing.

Would give it 4.75 stars if I couldâ?¦.
It's an excellent guitar for the money. Seriously, I sent a pic to a friend with a Les Paul and he was convinced this was one (or at least an Epiphone version)

A couple of small negatives and some comments:
-The guitar arrived with a serious string buzzing issue. If this was set up in California as the description indicates, they didn't do it right.
-Though attractive, the burl was not quite as nice as the one in the picture.
-Frets seem too high for me and I would have taken them down more during setup.
    -Sounds is excellent
    -Case is decent
    -Playability is excellent
-The price is right for this guitar and it's hard to imagine finding something this inexpensive with this quality.

    decent but flawed
I liked the stratolike one enough to try this as my cheap LP and also to provide a home to some Seymour Duncans I had. It's a nice guitar. If it were 10 or 20 years ago I might say great for the money but I think the standard for cheap guitars has gone up recently.

It is solid with good fit and finish. It is comfortable for me to play. I did not like the way the original pickups sounded but I bought this to swap those anyway and with the SDs it sounds good.

Two problems: The veneer is nothing like the photo and barely counts as "flamed". It's more "spotted, smudged". Doesn't look especially good.

The low E string has a mysterious buzz which does not seem related to the fret. Pluck it a little hard and it sounds fine but after a short time it starts to buzz. I haven't noticed it affecting the plugged in sound but I don't like it. Wouldn't recommend this overall. I would probably try one of the other inexpensive online guitar stores next

Indio 66 DLX Quilted Maple Top Guitar A treasure to own and a pleasure to play.
This is the third guitar that I have purchased from Monoprice and like the others I recommend that you just go ahead and change the strings right out of the box. You will notice a deeper more mellow sound and it will play like butter.
You may have to do some minor adjustments to get the new strings set up to play without fret buzz but that is true with a lot of guitars.
The finish on my guitar is a deep beautiful brown that looks awesome and it notes smooth as silk after a bit of personal touches. The sound on mine is every bit as good as my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. My only issue with this guitar is that the volume control for the neck pick up was poorly made because it will not raise or lower the volume smoothly. There is static at one certain spot but that doesn't stop me. This guitar is a fine instrument and one I do not believe you will be disappointed with. For the money, its a great value.

Indio 66 DLX Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar
This guitar exceeds my expectations in so many ways. When the guitar arrived, it was set up perfectly, although tools were included to allow for an adjustment to string height, intonation, or for straightening the neck. No adjustment was necessary, however, as the guitar plays like a million bucks. The strings are high quality and they sit at exactly the right height. The electronics are tight and high quality. The craftsmanship is perfect. I particularly like the head stock, in that the strings are only slightly cantilevered to allow for even greater string life and resonance. The classic Les Paul tuners are perfect, and the innate sound of the guitar (unplugged) is sweet. Great guitar and one of my favorites.

    Indio Review ..... Good Stuff
My second route 66 Les Paul style guitar. I was anxious to hear the difference and before I modified the first one it was just okay. After a pickup change and new hardware it smokes the tires. The new one with the new head stock design is in a league above your first generation. Playability and sound is nearly there out of the box. I set the intonation and tuned the guitar and the sound with the ceramic pickups is nice, clear and loves to be boosted. Good job, a triumph for the money.
The finish is nice but the dye job sucks I have the dark quilt finish , but the color is bad has a green tint more olive drab and it muddies the look. With less color this would have hit the mark. A great buy just like the first one that has Monoprice on the headstock but better all around. Anyone new to guitar won't be disappointed in the Indio series as I could use this on any stage. It won't do every sound nor should it but I recommend these guitars on a regular basis.

Nice instrument and gig bag. Great price. I'm new to pickin', but think this will be a great guitar to learn on, seems easy to play and looks great which I'm told is key. Thanks!
