It was certainly inexpensive, but that doesn't really help it too much. The case is hard to open and close around the PSVita. Though, when you do, it as a very satisfying snap to it. Playing with it on the PSVita is a bit troublesome. All buttons and thumbsticks save for the shoulder buttons become recessed. So a clean button press can feel a millimeter or two deeper than you're normally used, which would bother any avid user.
It's sturdy, redistributes a impact across the frame pretty nicely. and is easy to clean.
Great clamshell protector case, with potential issues
Great case, but not without it's own problems.
This tank of a case has survived a five-foot fall (along with the Vita of course!), and survived with nary a scratch or dent!
PROS: Covers everything on your Vita (Save the shoulder buttons, of course) Aluminum shell feels cool to the touch, and prevents sweaty hands.,
CONS: Shell locks your Vita in. If you want to remove your Vita from the shell case, you might as well break the case open! PS/Start/Select/Power buttons are harder to press with your fingers. Taking out Vita game cartridges is a challenge for bulky fingers.
I bought a VITA because I was drawn to it by the shinny design (yes...) Although this case is protective, the material made doesn't seem to handle a good smack. The PS, Power, Volume and Start/Select buttons are hard to reach (have to use nails sometimes) since it's design is a bit bulky and the material is not soft. Once this thing is on your Vita it loses it's beauty, but all for the sake of protection. Doesn't come with a screen protective film.
PROS: Covers most of the "unused" part of the VITA
CONS: Might be a bit too bulky. Material. Smaller buttons are hard to reach with big fingers. 0 Screen protection.
