Pro Gaming Style Computer Glasses, Black / Metal

Protect your eyes from the damaging and fatiguing effects of Blue Light using this pair of Pro Series Sport Style Computer Gaming Glasses from Monoprice!

Whether you know it or not, you are probably surrounded by Blue Light. Blue light is the higher frequency light that is found in the more pure white light of daylight. It is emitted by fluorescent and LED bulbs, computer monitors, smartphone screens, and the sun at midday. On the other hand, incandescent bulbs, fire, and the sunset have very little or no blue light.

High frequency blue light, which extends into the ultraviolet portion of the light spectrum, can cause eye strain, headaches, blurred vision, and dry eyes. Additionally, because blue light is associated with bright sunlight at midday, exposure to blue light late at night can cause our bodies to think it is midday, which disrupts our natural circadian rhythm.

These anti-glare and scratch resistant glasses are engineered to filter out both blue light and ultraviolet light, which is even more damaging to our eyes. They are ideal for reducing eye strain caused by long gaming sessions and for reducing the sleep disruption caused by blue light exposure.

How do these compare to ones sold by Gunnar Optiks?
    Micah C on Apr 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I find Gunnar better in filtering the blue light from the computer. Plus, it has a very little magnifier effect.

    Excellent Gaming Glasses
I am a developer by day and gamer by night and had been having sore eyes and excessive tiredness. Got these on sale and have been using them every day since and they have helped a lot. no more dry sore eyes after sitting in front of comp for 4 hours straight.

They really help create contract with with the colors so you can see details in games. very helpful in large scale BF4 games.

PROS: Eyes don't get as tired or dry after long periods in front of the monitor.

Color contrasts really pop out of the monitor.

Can see people moving in games very quickly for better gaming.

CONS: Lenses get small smudges easily. it comes with a cleaning cloth so no big deal.

No real carrying case so i use the box it came in and took out the insert stuff.

    Great product.
All in all these are great and I recommend them to my fellow monitor using friends.

PROS: -They work the effect is especially pronounced at night time but it cuts out the blue very well. You don't even realize how off-putting the blue is until you see the difference.

-Gaming very good, they do not manipulate color in a negative way. It almost seems more natural with these on. You can also change your displays color mode from cool/warm to adjust the glasses to your liking. Tip: Cool adds more blue, but the glasses filter it out.

-They seem to make everything look better I walked around outside with these and everything had such a great contrast and increased saturation. The glare reduction also made things very clear,UV is a plus also. Even my house plants seemed to appear more luscious.

-Perfect fit these are very comfy, they wrap around my head perfectly without pinching anywhere. I've worn them for 8 hours today and I do not find them uncomfortable. The lens also uses your entire FoV so you don't lose much vision space.

-Stylish they look cool imo. I would wear them in public. In fact I'm going to wear them at work.

-Good presentation the were protected, come with a cloth, and a cloth sac. There was also a decent amount of good info on the box. I'm glad this came in a box, the lens' are in perfect condition.

CONS: -Not a viable solution to a sunny day, but the UV filter will still protect you be prepared to squint. Actually just stay inside, stare at your computer screen, and make good use of your new glasses.

I work in front of a pc all day. I was starting to get headaches and my eyes were starting to hurt and burn. I looked into these glasses and purchased them. I am glad I did. I have no burning eyes or headaches anymore from the monitor. But not only that when I play online what a difference. Get them now!!

    Nice computer glasses
I spend a lot of time in front of a computer for work, and also in my off-time. Since the 1980's, I've spent a lot of time sitting in front of computer monitors and it has clearly hurt my night vision. When looking at blue spectrum lights at night, my vision can become blurred. I'm hoping these glasses may prevent any further damage as a result of my work and hobby. While other reviewers have noted stunning results, I have not really noticed any good or bad about it. My eyes don't feel any less tired from sitting in front of the screen for a while versus before I purchased them. Things don't seem more or less clear, nor is contrast seemingly improved. So my rating is diminished by the fact I cannot actually notice any improvement in anything, aside from the assurances that I am eliminating some of the damaging effects of computer work and play.

    PROS: Attractive, well constructed

    CONS: None

    My blurry vision is gone
These are probably not a lot different than the "blue blockers" you see advertised on TV but they work for me. I spend a lot of hours in front of a monitor daily and eye fatigue and focusing after several hours gets brutal. These have been the solution to that so far.

PROS: They take the fatigue away

CONS: people have called me Bono, the Fly, and a few other names around the office because of the yellow glasses i'm wearing.

    Good glasses
The glasses look cool. It takes a little getting used to while using the computer to do work and playing games on the tv because of the greenish yellowish tint of the glasses. Other than that, its less strain on my eyes.

PROS: Cool looking, very stylish for computer and gaming glasses.

    CONS: None

They Really Work, and They're Really Comfortable too
These computer glasses are a real bargain and really work as represented. They are also so light and comfortable that after a while you forget you're even wearing them. The wraparound shape means there is very little leakage or annoyance from unfiltered light.

I spend many hours a day in front of a 27" iMac, and my eyes were feeling it. With these glasses, especially at night, the eyestrain almost disappears, and it is indeed easier to fall asleep later. As others have said, it does take a few days to get used to these glasses, but after a while the change is no longer noticeable to the user. Similarly, there is some minor color distortion, but that too is easily overcome. Overall, this was a wise purchase that pays for itself every night. Highly recommended.

PROS: Quite comfortable do not contact areas near eyebrows, unlike others.

Very light while wearing not heavy at all.

    Reasonably priced.

    Quick shipping.

They really do help, especially at night.

CONS: Just a little dorky looking, but that's actually okay.

Might have to re-learn color balances

Really liking these, I use them for migraine reduction.
I have only had these for 4 days, but so far i really like them. They're comfortable to wear for long periods, and seem to really reduce eye strain. I use these almost all day when I'm indoors, and my eyes feel noticeably better. I suffer from migraine headaches that feel like they're behind my eyes, and doctors have been no help. I have self diagnosed it may be due to eye strain and my research led to wanting to try a blue light & UV filtering glasses. I found these ones to be just as cheap as the cheap stuff from china on ebay so I figured it was worth a try. I'm really glad i did! If you are looking to reduce eye strain I highly recommend giving these a try.
One comment regarding the design of these, dirt gets between the farm and lens and is hard to clean. And i get asked why I'm wearing safety glasses!

    Comfortable all day long.
    Reduce eye strain.
    Look decent

CONS: A little big/bulky (look like safety glasses)
Hard to clean between frame and lens.

    Surprizingly nice
It took my eyes a few days to get used to these but now I don't work at a computer without them. These glasses should come with some sort of warning about the first few times you wear them because your eyes will hurt until they adjust. Once your eyes do adjust though, you won't want to go back.

PROS: - Adjustment period with eye pain may make some stop wearing

CONS: - Sleep easier after working/gaming in front of a monitor
    - eyes never get tired or sore
-Crystal clear optics (or par with my $250 Ray-Bans)

    Fantastic Value
These do their job very well. I would say that they easily match the utility of Gunnars. I have no real choice but to wear glasses like this in order to prevent migraines. Gunnars help. These help. These are far less expensive than the nearest equivalent Gunnars (metal frame, sporty design). I've had these for about 9 months and can say they hold up well with daily use. If you spend a lot of time around computer screens (especially older screens) and/or fluorescent lighting, get these. Your eyes will thank you.

PROS: Well-constructed, comfortable fit, works well to reduce eye strain.

CONS: The color shift is not good for color-sensitive work like CADD (these are aimed at gaming, so I wouldn't count this as a major issue).
