What are the ports on the back for? I couldn't find a manual online.
    Todd B on Jan 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The control unit uses an RJ-45 connector. There is also an RJ12 (phone jack) but I don't think it has a use.
How is this frame compatible with any table top? Are customers expected to simply drill their own holes on any piece of wood fitting the minimum specs and then secure the frame that way? Is there some kind of standard system like with VESA-compatible monitor mounts?
    A shopper on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you just drill and screw to attach the legs, there is no table top standard hole position. I have built several desks with legs like this and random table tops. It's a great way to get a custom desk with awesome features.
Can I link two together to make an L shaped desk which raises and lowers with one control panel?
    Jason B on Dec 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Two tables cannot be linked together to share just one control panel. A possible work-around might be to save the same preset height adjustment on two tables. The tables would still move separately (and possibly at different speeds depending on the load), but they would end up at similar heights at a touch of a button.
How stable is this at it's full height? I'm 6'5" and I want this to be stable when standing.
    Hans L on Jan 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this desk would be a good option for your height. It is still stable at full extension especially for computer or desk work. Among sit-stand desk options, stand alone desks like this are also more stable. Having said that, sit-stand desks could lose some stability at taller height adjustments, but shouldn't be an issue for typical home or office use.
Are all of the electronics on this desk UL listed?
    A shopper on Mar 12, 2018
    Where do you find desktops?
    Brian B on Feb 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 2nd that with IKEA Getron. I bought that top and stained it to match my office furniture. It's awesome looking and rock solid.
Is anyone pushing the weight limits and how does it perform? I want to use a granite top for it that would be about 108lbs in itself.
    James A on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi. That granite top is still within the desk's load capacity so the motors would handle it. However it could limit what you put on top of the desk itself to stay within the recommended 176 lb. weight capacity. Thanks for asking.
Does anyone have any advice on whether a keyboard shelf (24"w x 12"d) can be mounted underneath your desktop -- or does the electronic controller or cross member of the frame get in the way?
    A shopper on Feb 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello. A keyboard shelf would work as long as your desktop dimensions would allow it. The middle part of the frame only takes up 6 inches. If 12" d is your constraint, then probably desktops 30 inches or more deep should work well.
What are the overall dimensions of the Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Desk Frame? Product ID 15722
    A shopper on Jun 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product is 27.6 inches deep (because of the table feet), while width and the height are adjustable. Width ranges from 39.4 inches to a maximum of 67 inches, allowing for a wide range of desktops to be used with this frame. Height adjusts from 24.4 inches at the lowest setting, up to 47.2 inches at the tallest setting.
Is this desk frame compatible with a glass top if I use non-slip grip pads?
    A shopper on Feb 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we have not tested the frame with glass tops, but it should work if you can secure it properly to be safe. Using heavy duty mounting adhesives might be more secure than using non-slip pads, but it could prevent easy disassembly if needed. Another option is to use heavy duty adhesives with glass mounting hardware that would allow you to screw the top to the frame. Hope this helps.
Can this frame fit a 41" wide desk surface board? On the description it talks about a top this is a minimum of 43", yet the picture shows 39.4" inches
    A shopper on Jun 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The 39.4" listed would just be the minimum distance of the frame. It is recommended to use at least a width of 43" in width.
Can it fit 72 inch long and 24 inch deep desk surface board? On the description frame's width was 23.6 yet Minimum top width in the below picture says 27.6 inches
    A shopper on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, that desk top would technically fit the desk frame, but it's not recommended to go this narrow on the top if you have other options. This is because although the frame is only 23.6" wide, the base supports are 27.6" long, meaning that the desk top would have a 2-inch gap against a wall with the feet sticking out a bit on the front and back.
I'd like to use this with a 49" TV/Monitor. Would I need to secure it (VESA bracket, etc.) or is the raising/lowering motion of the desktop smooth enough that the TV won't fall over if I just use the existing TV legs (no mount)?
    vince m on Mar 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this sit-stand desk frame is smooth and operation won't cause instability by itself if the TV and desk are setup properly. Just make sure there are no obstructions when the desk is being adjusted.

But having said that, we still recommend securing your TV if you have that option. This is because the taller desk could present increased risk if your TV were to become unstable like from accidentally bumping it, having kids or big pets running around the desk, or if an earthquake (knock on wood) were to happen. Hope this helps.
How fast does the mechanism lift or lower, the time interval say based on a 16 inch difference? Thanks, JD
    A shopper on Mar 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: less than 10 seconds from end to end. depends on load on desk. no different to the ones in my office from a speed perspective. but this has 3 memory positions. It is a phenomenal value.
Has anyone used this for a corner desk?
    Chuck R on Dec 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, it should work, you will need to do some measuring to account for the width of the legs. I bought a rectangular top from Ikea which has worked fine for me. They may have other shapes you can use.
Does it work with 220v? Thanks
    A shopper on Mar 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the power supply itself could work with 220v but the supplied cord and plug is for 110v US Spec outlets only. Thanks for checking.
How fast is the lift? Some similar desks vary between 1" - 1.5" per second.

    Can I mount castors?
    Ethan T on Apr 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You should be able too. The horizontal 27" base members have adjustable feet that screw out. These could be replaced with casters if you can find some that have the same thread type. Note this could impact the stability of the table if using fully extended or on carpet.
Is it possible to put this desk on casters (wheels)? I'd like to be able to relocate it around my office occasionally.
    A shopper on Feb 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product was not designed nor tested with casters so this configuration is not recommended. But if really needed, it might be possible to use M8 threaded casters in place of the adjustable table feet. This could however affect stability.
How do you attach a glass table top since you can't drive screws into glass?

Workstream by Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, White
BEST ANSWER: This product has not been tested with a glass top so this configuration can not be recommended. Also, it would be best to consult with the glass top manufacturer on your mounting options. You might want to explore metal glass adapters that would stick to the glass bottom using a strong clear adhesive and would use screws to attach to the table frame.
What is the indicator light on the top right of the control panel? This is separate from the display (just above the right side of the display).
    Nicholas D on Mar 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: A feature of the control system is a timer to remind you to change position. When a reminder is set, that light will be lit. See the "Timed Reminder" section on page 12 of the manual.
Can you add casters (wheels) to this desk? I'd like to occasionally relocate it around my office.

I already have a large desk with two solid panels on the sides that are the legs for the desk. Would I be able to attach this frame under my current desk for it to raise the entire desk ?
    A shopper on Feb 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it might work if you have good mounting points under the desk so you can securely fasten it to the frame for safety. This product comes with self-drilling screws that you can use if so. It's probably best to remove the old legs to get rid of the extra weight and since those legs are most likely not designed to hang from the desktop. Hope this helps.
What is the weight limitations of the unit ? Can a foot switch be used to control the up/down ?
    A shopper on Nov 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this is rated to lift up to 176 lbs. We have not tested a foot switch and there would be no easy way to modify this product because the control panel is not just an up-and-down switch. The controls provide additional functionality for saving height presets and for displaying the height setting. Having the height presets should help with making adjustments so you wouldn't have to keep holding the controls while adjusting desk height. Thanks for checking.
I need a manual that shows how to program the controls for this desk. It goes up to 109 and only goes down to 103. The down arrow does not function; but, the up arrow does. Please help?
    A shopper on Oct 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry you're having that issue! All I can say is unplug and plugin again (maybe that might reset anything you might have pressed accidentally !?!
    - I'd press and hold lightly on M: then up & down arrows for desired heights. That's the only three things I touch. I play piano and stand at times. Pressure on M and up / down. Good luck!
Will it be able to hold my monitor stand + monitors? I currently have a 6 monitor stand which weighs about 30 lbs. This stand has a large base on the bottom. It also has slightly less than 60lbs of monitors on it.

This is the only thing that will be on the desk (besides some super light speakers and a keyboard/mouse).

I want to use the IKEA VÄSTANBY tabletop on this.

Will this setup work or is it too heavy?
    New User U on Sep 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the desk frame would be able to support the mount and your 6 monitors on desktops like Monoprice products 21601-21606. Solid wood desktops would probably work but we recommend checking the weight since they could get heavy. We do not have information about the top you are considering and we can't tell if it has a solid core, but it does not seem like it is designed for computer use so putting the 90 lb stand and monitors on the top might cause some issues if it has a hollow or honeycomb core. Thanks for checking.
What are the dimentions for the closed box?
    Nilda G S on Sep 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the box measures approximately 44.5 x 12.5 x 10.5". Hope this helps.
It shows the external length dimension to be a max of ~67" for the frame but what is the max length dimension inside the legs? I need it to sit over another item but it may not work depending on the internal span dimension.
    Ian R on Sep 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the maximum width between the legs is around 61 inches. Thanks for checking.
What is the warranty on the motors on this desk?
    John S on Jun 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This item as a whole will have a 1 year replacement warranty.
Is this product compatible with the IKEA LINNMON desk top? I ask because the LINNMON is mostly empty space with a particle board frame. Does this product require a hardwood table top to mount to?
    Josh W on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, hardwood is not required but having at least a solid core is highly recommended so you can screw the top securely to the frame and so you can place heavier objects on the desktop. Hollow or honeycomb desk tops might limit your options for mounting the top securely to the frame, and could prevent you from using monitor mounts and other nice upgrades in the future. Thanks for checking.

    Very Nice
A lot better than I expected, with encoders on each leg, it has precise height adjustment in centimeters, with 3 memory positions, it ramps up and down to the stops. Very heavy gauge powder coated steel.

PROS: smooth motion, slows to stops

CONS: heavy, but that's probably a good thing....

Robust quality at an economical price
Because sitting all day took a toll on my waistline and my back I looked at adjustable desks for several years, but didn't get one because the good ones were all $700 and up. Then I saw this one in a Monoprice email, from the company I've been buying cables from for years, and I ordered the desk frame. The frame came in and I was impresse at how heavy and robust the components were. There were only seven structural pieces to assemble. The adjustable top is a sliding H-frame with set screws. The two legs each contain a linear actuator motor, and these bolt into the H-frame at the top and connect to the wide feet at the bottom. Finally the mounting brackets connect to the H-frame at the top. Using a battery operated driill with a hex bit it took less than 15 minutes to assemble the frame.
The cables are very straightforward to connect. When you connect your tabletop (I recommend a 30X90 reversible tabletop available from Flash Furniture - a very solid ane economical choice) I suggest turning it upside down on the floor. Put the frame on the tabletop upside down to mark the places to pre-drill holes. Before you bolt route cables taking advantage of the spaces between the frame and top.
The result is a solid and attractive adjustable desk that will go to standing height or down to sitting height. One thing I woud recommend is adding a cable management tray along the back side of the desk. Ibuilt my own tray using a piece of angle bracket and some 1X4 white wood, spray painted black. I put three cable holes across the back side of the taqble top to keep the desktop and the space underneath free from dangling or piled cables.
The end result is for less than $500 I have a desk that is easily comparable to $800 desks from other companies that market desks. You would have to assemble those too - the only difference here is you choose your own top and drill your own holes.

PROS: Solid, robust, quick to assemble. Control panel has three memorized programmable heights.

CONS: Height readout on the control panel is in centimeters - not really a big deal.

    I love this thing
I bought this thing a few weeks ago, assembled it and now it's a fantastic sit-stand desk at the push of a button. I had an old Ikea solid wood kitchen table that I pulled the top off of, resurfaced, and screwed into the frame. I actually like the fact that this is "topless" and you can put whatever you want on top of it. The instructions for assembly are garbage, but it's easy enough to intuit. The ability to have a different settings is great, for example, my chair is a little tall so it's easy enough to change the preset sit setting. The only thing I hate is the panel lock, which is pointless and annoying (though not enough to lose a star)

    PROS: Flexible top
    Easy to assemble
    Easy to use, change heights
    Nice steady desk
    Seems well built, and reliable

CONS: The panel has a lock "feature" to prevent accidental height changes
    Said feature can't be removed
Provided guide is close to useless.

Good desk, as long as your box isn't missing parts
Out of the several electronically-adjustable sit/stand desks I looked at, this seems to be the most durable, least expensive, and very customizable. The memory settings are very useful for transitions between sitting and standing. Assembly is straightforward, but my box was missing the bag of screws and the Allen wrench. I purchased replacement screws at a local hardware store (the "S-A" screws are M6-1.0 12mm if your box is also missing them), and the desk came together without a hitch. I used a solid wood 80" x 36" door as a table top, and the weight is not a problem. When I was assembling the frame upside-down (i.e. with the legs facing the ceiling), I tried changing the height, and one leg was hesitant to move up and down at the same rate as the other leg. When I finished assembly and put the desk top on, the motors worked fine, so maybe they need a fair amount of weight on them to work properly.

    PROS: Touch-sensitive controls are neat
    Durable steel frame
Can handle a lot of weight

CONS: Mine came without screws, requiring me to buy my own

    Super product
I was a little skeptical about this item but it fit my needs. I read the other comments and rolled the dice. BRAVO!!!
great product that WORKS. The height extension is way high and there is almost no tipsiness when fully erect...unlike me!!
One thing...the M6 threads on the top holder were in need of some help. I happened to have a M6 tap and fixed the problem in no time.

good desk, almost $200 less than one (w/ laminated top) at IKEA
Like others I was impressed with the heft of this thing. Easily fitted with the hardwood plywood top from the old desk. The instructions on how to program the presets were a bit cryptic. I just lower all the way to sit and type and raise to about 40 inches (90 on the read-out) to stand.

It sits between two base cabinets and needs about 1/2 inch clearance on each side to keep from jamming on one side or the other as it rises. If it does jam it takes about a minute before it resets.

    Economical alternative for the DIY
I did some research on my options to get a standing desk for my home office. I decided to go with this and buy a top from IKEA. I like that I can change the top when the time comes for a longer or shorter desk. Assembly was not bad. It was heavy. I love that it has 3 memory setting which was one of the selling points for me. I wish there is a way to permanently remove the panel lock. I dislike having to hold down the M to unlock it several times a day.

    PROS: Price
    Touch Control Panel
    Memory setting.

CONS: Panel lock feature cannot be disabled.

    Great product
I have a strange shaped desk and these work great. The ability to change the width is amazing. Great construct. Solid metal and feels solid. Had no issues building/setting everything up.

Well worth the price if you already have a table top
