Can I use this Monitor with a displayport to DVI cable?
    bryant c t on Jul 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You'll need an active adapter. The cheapest I could find one for is $80. The adapter must have a power cable (usb) with it to work. The cheaper ones may say they work with dl dvi but they don't.

Great price for a 30" QHD monitor
Pros: Uses CCFL (less flickering than LED). Cons: if you don't have a *dual-link* DVI-D output on your desktop or laptop's video outputs, you will need to buy an active Display Port to DVI-D adapter to get 2560x1600 that costs about $90 to $125. Otherwise, you will only get 1280x800 (single-link DVI-D). Don't presume just because you have the same type of connect that it is single-link DVI. For example, I have a Dell Precision M4800 and a port replicator that has seems to have a dual-link DVI-D but it is only single-link DVI-D. That's because to output dual-link DVI-D requires a higher end chip. The active Display Port adapter has an expensive chip in it to do the conversion. With the adapter, it is working great. No dead pixels, as far as I can see.
