A fine 27 inch monitor, at low price...Need to purchase Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter for Apple products...

This is a fine 27 inch LG IPS panel for the price of $250.00. However, Apple users need to note the following key points.
    1) You will need to purchase a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter. (Apple's runs $99.00 and Monoprice Product 6904 )
    2) You will need to purchase or already own a Dual-Link DVI-D to reach the maximum resolution of 2560x1440.
You must have a Dual-Link DVI-D source and must use a Dual-Link DVI-D cable (not included with the monitor).
You cannot use a Single Link DVI cable and reach the maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440.

    PROS: Great price at $250.00
27 inch IPS panel made by LG resold by Monoprice

CONS: 1) You will need to purchase a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter.

Better design choices and this would be 5 stars
The design choices of this monitor are bizarre and if more time had been taken in planning, the form and function would be much greater.

The monitor stand is made of spaghetti.
The included HDMI cable was complete garbage, I had to dig around and find a DVI-D cable to get the display to not look completely blurry.
The back of the monitor is curved where the VESA mounts are....WHY! You have to use washers to get a flat and even mount.
There are no labels for what buttons do what on the OSD why!

    PROS: Bright panel, good colors.
    No dead or stuck pixels.

CONS: Cheap stand, not high adjustable.
    Bad backlight bleed.
The monitor should just have come with display port inputs instead of the legacy vga and dvi ports.

    It makes me blue
I purchased the Pro LED Monitor (Product 104898) about a year ago and I love it. I needed another monitor so I recently purchased this one and I’m very disappointed in the color quality it produces. No matter how much time I spend calibrating the monitor, I’m unable to produce a white that is even close to my other monitor. On most settings the white has a very cold blue shade to it, unless I turn the blue way down and then the white becomes a shade of yellow. I can’t have this because I do a lot of photo editing. If you don’t mind having your whites looking a little blue, then this monitor may work for you, but for me, it is not going to be able to do the job. It looks like I’m going to have to save my pennies a little longer and go with another 10489.

    PROS: Great Price

    CONS: Poor color
The menu setup is very hard to use

I was never any good at titles.
I ordered this on a whim to replace one of my dead monitors. I'm impressed Monoprice, very impressed. The packaging was sufficient, however I'm more of a fan of the harder foam types. It was quite easy to mount it onto my monitor mount, but i did have to cut off a bit of the screws as the top two mounting holes are shallow. Plugged it in and it fired right up. Windows detected it and extended the desktop to the full resolution without issues. NO dead/stuck/hungover pixels, and it was really nice to look at as the brightness wasn't set to 11 at the factory. Colors were nearly identical to my other monitors out of the box. I couldn't detect any input lag or ghosting when I tested it with a couple of games. I would have liked to see display port instead of VGA, but my HDMI port was lonely anyways. Overall this is a near perfect monitor with very minor issues. If you're on the fence about this it's time to jump off and go for it.

PROS: Fantastic display with great colors.
Text is crisp and easy to read at 2560x1440. At 1920x1080 text becomes a tad blurry, but that is expected.
Brightness was not set to "kill eyeholes mode" by default.
Back light is even and consistent across the entire screen, I did have to let it warm up a bit the first time for it to even out.
Base is good, little to no wobble. Good enough at this price point.
    The price!

CONS: Included HDMI cable is far too short, but at least it was included. A DVI-D cable would be nice for some folks.
    External power brick.
The curved back panel may cause issues with certain VESA mounts.
The force required to push the menu buttons is a tad high for my liking.
Not enough plastic film to peel off.
UPS holding it for a day before delivering it.

Great WQHD monitor for the price
I didn't use the base but based on others I used washers to mount my vesa plate on the back and onto my desk mount. This monitor replaced my BenQ 27" display which was a nice 1080p but I wanted the higher resolution. Everything is great - no pixel problems and virtually no bleed on black screen. I use the DVI dual link connection and was set up in 5 mins.

    PROS: Pride and WQHD

CONS: Perhaps the low $ stand an omission of display port.

    Great Value!
This monitor is the best value out there for the price. I couldn't find any other 2560 x 1440 monitor this size for anything close to the price. I'm using it with my ASUS Zenbook, which needed a custom resolution to get it to work but with some Googling I figured it out. Due to limitations with my graphics card, I ended up only being able to use it at 44 hz but that's fine for my work needs.

PROS: Great price, colors look great compared to a few other monitors I have. Easy set up, packaged well.

CONS: If I had to nit pick, the plastic feels a tad cheap and adjusting the viewing angle is a little more difficult than it should be, as others have alluded to.

    Very Nice Monitor
This is a very nice monitor, especially for the price. I don't often leave reviews but I thought I would help some people out with information that I found lacking in past reviews for this panel. I bought this thing because my previous 27" Hanns-G (TN Panel) was getting the worst back light bleed that made even programming on it painful, and I thought I was ready for 2560x1440. This Panel fits the bill very nicely.

One of my primary concerns was the bezel as the image on MP's site makes it look rather large. It isn't bad at all, maybe 3/4" thick on left, right, and top. The bottom is about an inch but no one cares about the bottom bezel. In all its pretty similar to most monitors I have used with that regard and won't bother you once you are staring into 27" of crisp images.

IPS is one of those things that you don't realize how much you like until you have it. I have this monitor next to two other TN panels and it makes them look pathetic if I move much in my seat.

I do play games and I can honestly say that I see zero ghosting. As for response time... I cant say I see any difference between my two panels but I don't play twitch shooters (at least not until overwatch comes out). For League of Legends it does just as well as any panel would, but for games like Ark survival evolved you will really start to see that 2560x1440 shine. Just be prepared to have a big 'ole graphics card ready if that is your use case. Basically if you are used to average/entry level panels then I don't see how you can be disappointed with this thing for gaming as you will likely be wow'd enough by the resolution.

2560x1440 vs 4k... Odds are that even with this resolution you will need to scale up text and image sizes. I'd avoid 4k unless that price is identical or it is a very large panel that you are sitting very close to. For Desktop usage I think this is more than adequate. (hint. Apple's 27" Desktop monitor is still 2560x1440)

Aside from these, the things i found accurate in other reviews: The stand sucks but provided you don't plan to jump on your desk anytime soon, I imagine that it will be fine. The Color takes some tweeking! Getting the color the way I liked it the first time I set it up had me nervous but once I got it dialed in I was happy with it. I don't think it's color "accuracy" is likely the greatest so that may be something to look into if you are buying as a photoshop nut but as a developer/gamer it doesnt bother me a bit. Speakers.... I would love to smack every reviewer that judges a monitor by the quality of it's speakers... please instantly disregard the remainder of their review if you see this. Display Ports should probably be a thing these days. I did have a problem where the display would not show my Windows 10 OS through a DVI connection but i moved things around and connected this panel with and HDMI and all is well...

I would suggest to a friend and any hesitant buyers reading this review.

    PROS: 2560x1440,
    Comfortable Gaming,
    Comfortable Programming,
    Lots of Realestate

CONS: No DisplayPorts (knew it when I bought it),
DVI - Windows 10 support problem (probably a problem with my rig or Windows)

    Excellent Value
I tried their 28 inch 4k and the 27inch IPS and thought the IPS panel was far superior. The color and brightness are excellent. I didn't have the 27 inch for long due to a quality issue. Customer service is replacing the monitor and I will try to report back when they do replace it.

    Great Price
For the price, these monitors are a great buy. We have purchased several dozen of them, and while a couple of them have arrived DOA, Monoprice was very quick to process our RMA and make things right. My only real complaint is that on about half of them the threaded inserts on the VESA mount points come unattached internally after you have it mounted (note that there was no over-tightening), so when you attempt to unmount it the screw will free spin forever, and a hacksaw is needed to remove the head of the screw and get the mount off.

PROS: Great price, sleek looking, multiple types of connections available

CONS: Wobbly stand, threaded inserts for VESA mount points come unattached. Some users have complained that the HDMI input is finicky, personally I haven't had an issue.

Really good price for an 27" IPS Monitor
So I use two Dell UltraSharp 27"monitors at work. Thos erun around $800 a pop. So that is my benchmark, and you know wha the for the price, these Monoprice monitors a slick. You aren't getting $800 quality, but it's still really good. People complain , annoyingly, about the monitors stand, whatever. Unless you have anger issues when you work or game.,and shake your work area like a madman, the stands are fine. I read this somewhere and forgot about it, but don't use a Digital Port adapter, your video card wont recognize 2560 x 1440. I use the HDMI and DVI-D and it works great. In fact I was surprised by the HDMI. Normally I see color contrast and brightness issues when I use an HDMI vs DVI-D. I saw none of that. It took a little bit of time to color calibrate, but it wasn't hard. The are Builit in speakers, which as far as built in speakers go, are quite loud. Now its no like Amazing sound, but it gets the job done. Otherwise use something else. These come in with a black piano finish, which I can't I am wild about, as it shows finger prints and such easily, you also have to take care where you place light fixtures because it will pick up reflections super easy. Another odd thing, since I have two of these , they sit right net to each and oddly enough, 1 unit is 1/4 inch taller than the other. I check the stand mounting and it all looks good, so maybe I got one made on Wednesday and one made on Friday....meh. However repeat after me...... $249. It just doesn't get any better than that. Now buy two...I did. Oh if you do buy two, make sure your video card can hang with at least minimum resolution of 5120 x 2880, otherwise you will miss out.

    PROS: Crazy affordable
    Nice look overall
    Easy to set up

CONS: Power brick ...small but a brick none the less
    Piano Finish
The HDMI cord they provide, while nice, could stand to be about 12 inches longer.
