Luxe Series Apple® MFi Certified Lightning™ to USB Charge & Sync Cable
Premium Charge & Sync: Keep your Apple iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod® fully charged and synced with your favorite photos and music.
Tangle Resistant Braided Nylon Cable: The braided jacket of the Luxe Series protects the cable from nicks and cuts and resists tangling, saving you the time and frustation with using ordinary round cables.
Aluminum Connectors: Superior internal structural design is capped by aluminum connector heads, resulting in a cable that is much more durable than ordinary cables with molded PVC connectors.

PROS: The cable feels solid. I love the LED.
CONS: None that I can tell.
PROS: LED indicates charge status, nylon braid outer jacket
CONS: Larger connector than OEM may not work on some cases.
**Physical Overview** This cable is from the appropriately named “Luxe” series. The entire cable has a premium look and feel to it. There are sizes ranging from 6 inches all the way up to 6ft. The entire length of the cable is wrapped in a tightly woven braided sleeving. My version is black and there aren’t any gaps or breaks in the sleeving. This bodes well for the also available white version, although I cannot verify this for myself. The website boasts that the cable is “tangle free” due to the nylon braided sleeving, however I feel that this is more to do with the fact that the cable is quite stiff thereby making it very difficult to knot/kink. Either way, shoving this in your pocket or stuffing it in the bottom of your bag won’t be a concern as it should come out and unravel easily.
Both ends of the able terminate in a hard plastic joint that then leads to a metal enclosure for both the Male USB type-A connector and the Male Lighting connector. Although it doesn’t affect performance and I’ve honestly never had a problem with rubber/plastic terminating enclosures, this is a nice touch that extends the premium feel beyond just the sleeved cabling. All of the contact points are gold plated which is great for longevity. This cable is (over)built to last.
**Usage** There really isn’t much to say in terms of using this cable. I tried this on an iPad Mini 3 and an iPhone 6 (non-plus). Both devices charged and I sent some data back and forth between my macbook and the devices. Everything worked exactly as it should. There is however one distinguishing feature which is quite fantastic. Anyone who has an iDevice will know that there is no LED indicators on the devices. This actually drives me nuts, but Monoprice has solved that for you. Built into the Lighting connector end of the cable is a small LED. It has two states - orange and green. Orange indicates charging and green indicates a full charge. Now at a glance you can see if your device is charged and you can simply unplug it to prevent trickle charging. I LOVE this feature. It solves a problem which is quite frankly a design fault by Apple. Nearly all of my Android devices will have a visual indication that it is fully charged and I’m not talking about a quick screen on then quickly off - the likelihood of you seeing that exactly when it happens is so low that it makes the feature nearly useless.
Please note that this cable was provided by Monoprice free of charge in exchange for writing the review however this has not impacted my review of the unit in any way.
PROS: Build quality, premium look and feel, MFI certification
PROS: Well constructed cable with a very handy charge indicator. Fits iPhone 6 with an otterbox defender case. MFi certified.
CONS: None so far as it is brand new. Time will tell
PROS: It's braided which should provide better long term survivability to the cable itself. The color indicator on the cord itself is a nice little plus to let you know if your phone is fully charged without having to wake up the phone.
CONS: After about 3 weeks of use the cable isn't charging my phone. After 2 weeks of use I would have to place the phone on a table and twist the cable in a certain position for it to charge.

I use these cables daily in my car to charge, stream music & make phone calls. I also use it at night to charge my phone. It also has a bright LED on the cable to show you it has power and its working.
