PROS: Inexpensive, Long, Green.
CONS: Reliable in that it breaks every few months like clockwork.
PROS: Fairly priced, available in a variety of lengths and colors, quick and relatively problem-free return.
CONS: If you don't treat them carefully, they're almost guaranteed to fail in a matter of months.
Rather than reviewing the cable right after receiving it, I wanted to put it through its paces and have now been charging my iPhone 6 Plus with it daily for a couple of months.
The first thing I noticed when taking the cable out of its packaging is this cable is much thicker than Apple's - by my estimate, 1/3 thicker. It feels more durable and stiffer as well. I'm not sure if the wire is of a thicker gauge or if it's thicker cable sheathing, but this cable feels like it's something that's going to hold up well. In fact, I plan to start using it in my car for this very reason. If you've ever used one of Apple's lightning cables for an extended period you'll know that their rubbery sheathing can split over time. This doesn't seem to be an issue that will occur with this cable.
A couple of other aspects that I also appreciate are the color and the length. Apple's stock lightning cable can get pretty grungy after consistent use. I suspect that the black color and durable sheathing will prevent that from being an issue on this cable. The length (6ft) is also refreshing, as it's almost double the length of the stock lightning cable. Works great for charging my phone while lounging on the couch!
I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much beyond a basic charge cable when Monoprice asked me to review this, but I'm glad to say I was completely off base. I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise, considering that cables are what Monoprice is perhaps best known for. This lightning cable beats out Apple's standard cable in almost every way, and I won't be using my old grungy lightning cable again anytime soon.
PROS: Thick and rugged
Longer than the stock Apple cable
CONS: None so far
PROS: great cable. Length is great for using while charging
CONS: did not fit my lifeproof case
The 6 ft cable will not work with a iPhone 6 encased in an Otterbox Defender case. The charging port opening on the case is too narrow and the base of the cable is about twice as wide as the three foot cable. With that being said, I have several 3 ft cables from Monoprice that work just fine with the wife's iPhone 6.
PROS: Works fine with an iPhone 5s running iOS 9.1 and Otterbox Defender case. All 3 ft cables work just fine on either iPhone 5s or iPhone 6.
CONS: Will NOT work with an iPhone 6 and Otterbox Defender case. Charging port opening on case is too narrow.
Is the slot in the Otterbox too small or the housing on the cable too big? As a consumer, I don't care. They just plain don't work together.
PROS: Nice looking cable. Lifetime warranty. Monoprice-backed.
CONS: Doesn't fit in the (extremely popular) Otterbox Defender case for iPhone 6.
CONS: Doesn't work
My apologies for the error received when attempting to use this Lightning cable. Just to verify, did you happen to test the cable with a different USB power source such as a USB wall charger, car charger, or computer port? Should the issue persist, I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a replacement as it sounds like the cable is defective. We cover our cables with a lifetime warranty and obtaining the replacement would be of no additional cost. Please let me know if you would like to proceed. Sorry again for the trouble and thank you for your feedback.

PROS: Not sure... the length and the price maybe?
My sincere apologies for the issues experienced with this Lightning cable. If I may ask, are you able to send me a picture of the broken connector? I will be forwarding this to our product team to be investigated further. We truly value your time and feedback as this will help us continue to bring in higher quality products. Sorry again for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you in advance.

During the process of elimination to find the culprit, I used a different lightning cable which immediately solved the problem. I then took this bad cable inside and plugged it into a power brick. At first, the iPad didn't recognize it. However, after playing around with the lightning connector a little bit, I was able to start charging.
This occurred fresh out of the box. These cables are defective from the factory and will disappoint you.
