    2.8-12mm Vari-focal IP66 Rated HD-TVI Bullet Camera (2MP HD1080P, 1/2.7in Sensor, 42 Smart IR LEDs, up to 165ft, 24VAC/12VDC)

Enjoy the benefits of an intelligent surveillance camera using this 1080P Full HD Infrared TVI Bullet Camera with Varifocal Lens from Monoprice!

This bullet camera features true day/night capabilities with automatic switching to monochrome and use of infrared (IR) LEDs, allowing for full HD imaging in 0 lux conditions to distances up to 40 meters from the camera! It utilizes a 1/2.7" sensor and a 2.8~12mm lens on an M12 lens mount.

The camera uses HD-TVI technology, which provides a cost-effective HD security imaging solution. Rather than requiring all new cabling, you can continue to use your existing coaxial and power infrastructure. Additionally, the HD-TVI signal is especially immune to electromagnetic interference and supports transmission distances up to 1500 feet over RG-59 cable, more than twice the distance possible with IP cameras. Because the video is uncompressed, you can view live feeds in real time, so what you see is what is happening at that moment.

This camera adopts a new generation sensor with high sensitivity and advanced circuit design technology. It features high resolution, low image distortion and low noise which makes it suitable for surveillance and image processing systems. Gain the benefits of high-definition, megapixel resolutions with your existing analog DVR using this 1080p NextGen Analog Infrared Bullet Camera.

Do you have any information about minimum focus distances? For example, if the camera were positioned 2 or 3 feet from the subject would the image be in focus (using the 12mm focal length)?
    A shopper on Mar 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can adjust the 2.8-12mm varifocal lens to focus the subject as close as maybe 10 inch away. So 2 to 3 feet away should not be a problem
what adapter cables will I need to connect to a dvr with a video input. Is this weatherproof? What is in the box with this camera?
    Robert F on Jun 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If your dvr has BNC connections, which most do, you will need a BNC male male cable like item #628. Or make your own. You will also need 12v DC power.

The camera and a mounting box are all that comes with it.

For what it's worth, the camera has an amazing picture for $90.
Is this camera compatible with the 16178 TVI to HDMI Converter? I am not connecting the camera to a DVR, but simply to an HD video screen.

BEST ANSWER: Yes it is. Connect camera TVI video cable to the input on the converter. Then HDMI to the TV/monitor. You do not need to loop out to a DVR. I have it set up this way and works great.

Great for the price & my needs!
I bought this camera to use as a live feed from a stage and am quite pleased with it's performance. The zoom range gives me the flexibility I need and it switches from day to night vision and back again in a short enough time that it can be used to monitor scene changes with the lights out.

    OK, Could be Better
Strange that the camera doesn't come with a power supply and that Monoprice doesn't even sell them. The camera worked fine for about two week then failed. No video. But I threw the box away and can't ship it back.
I still think Monoprice is great and I just got a defective unit. I have been buying cables from them for many years and will continue to do so.
