    IP PoE Infrared Bullet Camera

This dual-streaming camera features 3D Digital Noise Reduction (3D DNR) and Digital Wide Dynamic Range (DWDR). The Back Light Compensation (BLC) is zone configurable and up to four Regions of Interest (ROI) can be defined. It can be powered using a 12 VDC power adapter or with PoE (Power over Ethernet). It features an IP66 ingress protection rating, which means that it is dust tight and can withstand powerful water jets, which is more than sufficient for outdoor surveillance applications.

    1. Incoming visible light

    2. Visible light passes through the IR-blocking filter

    3. Color filters control the color of light reaching the sensors

    4. Color blind sensors convert the light into electronic signals

    5. Millions of individual light sensors

Complementary Metal-oxide Semiconductor: The CMOS image sensor utilizes newer technologies to better record HD resolutions and fast-moving activities.

Region of Interest: ROI allows you to configure one or more areas of a given camera's field of view for additional scrutiny. For each defined ROI, the camera will create a seperate video substream, which can be viewed or captured seperately from the main Field of View. The effect is to provide multiple views and capture feeds using only a single camera.

Back Light Compensation: BLC reduces silhouetting, so you can see foreground subjects clearly when positioned in front of a bright background. The BLC circuitry adjusts the exposure so that the subject is properly illuminated and clearly visible.

Digital Noise Reduction: Image noise can come from a variety of sources, but is most often associated with low-light conditions, resulting in a "grainy" image. This noise not only interferes with the ability to clearly distinguish individual image elements, but also increases the storage space required for any given image. The DNR circuitry uses a digital comb filter to remove this noise.

Wide Dynamic Range: WDR produces clearer images and more even lighting in views that are simultaneously both bright and dark. This is particularly useful in areas with windows and lots of natural light. WDR improves on the ability of Back Light Compensation (BLC) and High Light Compensation (HLC) by independently adjusting the intensity of different portions of the image to produce proper lighting intensity across the entire image.

Does this camera work without an NVR? Does it record to NAS (such as a network drive)? If so, what software is used to configure the camera, set up NAS recording settings and view the live stream?
    Raymond R on Feb 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. An NVR would not be necessary. The camera will come with software to set up the camera and allow you to configure it with a NAS.
Does this camera have and ethernet connect port? Is this camera Zwave compatible?
    Mark A on Feb 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This camera would have an ethernet port. However, it would not be Z-Wave compatible. Should you have a system to connect it to that is Z-Wave compatible then that unit would handle the Z-wave commands to the camera. I hope this helps.
hi, I have NAS lorex LNR180, is this camera work on my unit I have ?

I have to say to find a 1080 camera with IR under $200 is awesome! And to have to connect a single cable to it is a bonus too (if you have a PoE switch or injector). (I bought a PoE switch after purchasing this.) Note that there's no power adapter included with this. I had a spare 12V wall wart from an external HDD I gutted that provided plenty of amperage it requires.

I did have to fire up an old WinXP VM in order to install the configuration software to assign an IP address, but the supplied CD did have Mac OS X viewing software (and a browser plugin!) Once the IP is assigned, you can do the rest of the configuration from a browser. You can adjust the IP there as well. I haven't yet tested other aspects of the built-in software. You can supply you're own SSL certificate for an encrypted connection.

The field of view is narrower then I wanted. I was looking for something closer to 90 degrees but the resolution trumped that. I also purchased a wall/ceiling mounting arm, to replace the short one it comes with, but it doesn't have the standard 1/4" camera mount screw hole to swap it out. You're stuck with the short mount it's attached to.

Time will tell how well it performs. I don't yet have it mounted in it's final location.

PROS: Good picture, IR lighting, PoE, MaC OS X software for viewing

CONS: No Mac OS X software for initial configuration, no 1/4" camera mount, 77 degree field of view

    Great camera
The camera is built very well and is at a great price for the features offered. I may buy another one in the near future after getting this one set up in its final location.

My camera is set up with a Synology DS212j NAS and using the Surveillance Station 7 software to manage the camera. The web-based interface that comes with the camera does have many features, but doesn't explain what most of the settings are for. Luckily all I needed to do was initial setup, log in to the web interface to change the admin password, and then enter the network settings into my NAS.

All of the stock configuration settings on the camera are tuned pretty well. No complaints and only did minimal tweaking so far.

PROS: Great picture that supports 1080p at 30 fps.

Power over Ethernet. I have one Cat5e wire ran to the camera for power and networking.

Infrared for nightvision that automatically switches on/off.

    Feels very sturdy.

CONS: Included (Windows) software is not very user-friendly. Images missing in installer, lots of broken english text.

There's other vendors selling the same camera (Model NC303-MB) even cheaper out there.

The web-based interface for the camera has a plugin that does not work with Chrome at all.

Works great with iSPY or Zoneminder
Bought two of these cameras along with one dome version and so far so good. I got them setup with iSpy at first but ultimately ended up getting zoneminder working with the camera after some tweaking around with the settings in that software. Picture quality is nice and clear and works great at night. I think I want to add a couple more cameras to the system for complete coverage.

PROS: Affordable IP camera with POE that offers good image quality plus the confidence of shopping with monoprice. Camera is easy to setup with iSPY as they already have urls to generate connections to it, just add a user account for read only access.

CONS: Not the easiest of cameras to setup, so i suggest this to more technically inclined, even so getting it to work with iSpy is very easy.

    Work Great
I bought three of these. They were easy to install and set up. Adjusting the aim is also easy. The picture is great is all lighting conditions. I am really happy with these cameras.

    PROS: Picture Quality, PoE
