Does this monitor feature a 1ms response time?
    A shopper on Feb 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I just received this today and the box it came in says 8ms response time
    Whats the response time?
    Sebastien J on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Like most TN panels, it's probably 1ms minimum with 6ms maximum, and a average of 3-4ms response time. The 1ms specification is only the lowest possible response. The panel doesn't operate constantly at 1ms. It definitely isn't 8ms because that would cause massive motion blurring at 144hz (the monitor would be unusable). The overall response time (from controller/mouse input to graphics card to screen) is probably a bit higher than 10ms which is considered excellent, because the world record is 8.5ms. All of this is conjecture but should be within the ballpark for 144hz TN monitors.
    What is the freesync range?
    A shopper on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: With regards to the freesync range it is from 40-144hz.
    Matte or glossy screen?
    Craig L on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this monitor has a matte finish on the screen.
Any word on input lag? (separate from response time)
    A shopper on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Regarding input lag we are looking at about 5ms. Hopes this helps.
Is this monitor flicker free? I would like my eyes not to be strained.
    A shopper on Mar 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. Yes, this monitor is flicker free.
Since the response time is 1 ms and it doesn't say anywhere on the page, I'll assume the monitor is TN, but just in case, is this IPS?
    Christopher H on Feb 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is a TN panel. I personally have not noticed ghosting. I would estimate the monitor to be about 4ms.
Could you make a NVIDIA version? (G-Sync instead of FreeSync... or both would be okay and probably an industry first)
    David B on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'd like a G-sync version as well but that'll increase the price much higher than the FreeSync version since freesync is royalty free and g-sync is not.
What is the Native resolution? Only Max resolution is given.
    Ewa R on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Max resolution on an LCD panel IS the native resolution. 1440p in this case.
Does this include a DisplayPort cable?
    Kyle S on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It only came with an HDMI.
Will this monitor be restocked? I would like to purchase more of them.
    A shopper on Sep 7, 2017
Someone mentioned there was a lot of blur and this monitor won't work well with FPS games. Can anyone confirm that this is a universal issue for this monitor and not isolated to that individual?
    A shopper on May 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Haven't had any such issues with mine.. I can get up to 144 Hz on certain games with an RX580 without any ghosting or blur
Does this monitor have a DP v1.2 output in addition to the input? The pictures only seem to show an input.
    A shopper on Jul 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It only has a DisplayPort input. No Output.
Are we able to turn off power saving mode? Is there a driver for this monitor?
    A shopper on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Windows loads a generic driver .
When will this monitor be back in stock?
    A shopper on Sep 27, 2017
If I buy this monitor and it doesn't work, do I get money back?
    A shopper on Jul 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Monoprice has always been very good about issuing refunds when something was not as expected. Read the policies on the site here for the full info on individual items and time frames for returns.
Is it a good quality TN panel? Its hard to find TN panels that look almost as good as IPS.
    A shopper on Jun 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It isn't the best TN for color reproduction, but I have no issues using it next to my Acer IPS secondary monitor. In the menu, there are options for saturation, gamma, and color temperature. I would admit, I am not too concerned with color accuracy due to my IPS monitor, but this monitor isn't too great at reproducing my IPS's colors. nontheless, this monitor works well for gaming and non color sensitive work.
Can Display Port with this monitor output 1440p and 144 Hz?
    A shopper on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but make sure to get a good display port cable. I used a cheap one ($10) at first and there was a lot of flickering and other issues when I tried using 144Hz. I upgraded to an Accel cable ($15) that was mentioned on the displayport website and things have been running smoothly ever since.
How do we use the 144hz with DVI-D ? The monitor only detects 60hz so far, even if i have a brand new AmazonBasics DVI-D cable.
    Eric F on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: DVI does not have the bandwidth to support 1440p at 144Hz. You must use a display port cable to utilize this feature.
For those of you that have this monitor, are you able to get into bios with this monitor? I cant seem to get into bios, it always tell me no cable and then no signal......
    A shopper on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have no problem going into bios on my monitor you probably need to setup your bios to make whatever slot your monitor was plugged in as primary external gpu, internal gpu. try plugging the monitor on the internal gpu to boot into bios then adjust your settings there.
Is there a way to output audio from both an HDMI and DisplayPort source at the same time? I want to use Discord from my PC and play PS4 games at the same time.
    Brent M on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. Unfortunately you cannot do that with this monitor.
Is freesync working on both HDMI and DisplayPort ?
    Eric F on Mar 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This monitor would only support FREESYNC via the DisplayPort 1.2 input.
how do you use the 144hz with 1080p configurations?
    argelys m on Mar 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can change the resolution in Nvidia control panel or AMD's software. Since you won't be using 1440p you might as well buy a 1080p 144hz for around $200.

Excruciating motion blur, not suitable for FPS gaming
    The good:
+ Incredible bang for your buck. 1440p 144hz at the cheapest I've ever seen it.
+ The bezel may be fat, but the display is so large that it doesn't feel jarring transitioning from one monitor to the next. YMMV depending on preferences and your monitor setup.
    + VESA mount!
+ Minimal ghosting, much less than my BenQ 144hz gaming monitor.
+ Not much backlight bleed, and your standard TN viewing angles. Pretty middling for a modern TN display.

    The bad:
    - As stated above, bezels are fat, thick, and ugly.
    - The stand is cheap, flimsy, glossy black plastic and does not rotate horizontally.
    - Does not include a DisplayPort cable. Why sell a 144hz monitor without a 144hz capable cable? Just knock up the price another $5 and include what the customer needs.
    - Quality control is lacking, or maybe missing entirely. My monitor arrived with the protective film severely dinged up, and some blemishing along the sides.
    - Not enough settings available within the OSD menu. Notably lacking strobe / pulse options, which brings me to...

    The UGLY:
    - An excruciating amount of motion blur. You would not want to play competitive FPS with this monitor. Plays perfectly fine for top-down ARPGs like Diablo 3, but anything with a rapidly changing camera angle (and where that blurred information is important, like in a competitive setting) is a painful, blurry experience. I have contacted Monoprice's support team to see if there is a service menu that I can toy around with that will adjust the strobe / pulse to help alleviate this.
    - "Overdrive" option in the OSD has absolutely no effect on motion blur. Maybe this is a firmware bug?
    - Panel is NOT unbranded as shown in the product pictures, which I find to be very misleading. It has "IIIP" in white branding on the bottom front, as well as some ugly (and rather large) white font for the menu buttons.

This is a good monitor. Not great, not terrible, but good. If you're looking for something to play Overwatch or CSGO competitively, look elsewhere. They don't even list a response time in the product specifications, which leads me to believe they KNOW this thing has some bad blurring. For most daily tasks and less rapid-paced gaming with fast camera movement, this thing is fine.

I've never used TurnTo's review system before, so I don't know if it's possible to later edit a review -- I will revise this if possible, upon further information about the ghosting, overdrive setting, and service menu.

Great monitor, watch for a sale!
I got this monitor for $225 during a sale which is absolutely fantastic deal for this monitor. If you have not made the jump to a high refresh monitor for gaming do it! You will never want to go back. I upgraded from a 27" 1080p 60HZ monitor

+Great picture after spending some time adjusting the settings
+Lots of inputs & features at this price point
+Picture in Picture! I though this feature had gone by the wayside
    +very lightweight

    Cons, being very picky here
-The VESA screw holes are very shallow, you need either very short screws or use a bunch of washers/spacers with longer screws
-It's obviously a budget monitor, the plastic feels cheap and the stand is meh, using a mount is highly recommended
-The DC cable from the power brick to the barrel connector is too short
    -the bezel is somewhat deep
-every time the resolution changes or the monitor turns on you get an OSD popup stating the resolution, refresh rate, and other info. The popup stays on the screen for a few seconds. You often get this popup when launching a game even if the game is set to your desktop resolution & refresh rate. I personally like this popup as it confirms your game is running at the correct resolution & refresh rate, however it would be great if you could turn this option off in the monitor settings as it can get annoying.

Cannot comment on the freesync feature as I have an nVidia card.

The first monitor I received had a single stuck pixel. Although it took a little while, the MP RMA was very easy as they have a pixel perfect guarantee on this monitor. This defect did not affect my review as MP replaced the monitor. The second monitor I received is perfect.

    I tested power consumption with a Kill-a-watt
    Standby: 0.3-0.4 watts
0 brightness (lowest setting): 18 watts
    50 brightness (halfway): 36 watts
    100 brightness (max): 45 watts

The cheapest 1440p 144Hz monitor you can get
If you've made it down here to the reviews, then the bezel probably doesn't bother you, and that's really the only bad thing about this monitor that isn't readily apparent.
(Basic review of the monitor here https://youtu.be/KAAR7-fO4-Y )

It has a relatively nice TN panel that fits inbetween two IPS panels at my workstation without looking too out of place, but it's still obviously a TN panel. The image looks consistent when viewed from the left or right, but it can get pretty bad looking at it from below and slightly better from above.

I don't notice any delay at all and haven't noticed any ghosting or blur. Freesync is nice, but in some games it'll cause the screen to flicker when its around the 40Hz freesync minimum, something that I'm not sure is software or hardware caused.

If you have a budget that's $100+ above this and you're okay with spending it, sure, get something better. But, if this is at the end of your budget and you want cheap 144Hz 1440p, this will do it.

    Excellent Panel - Excellent Performance
To anyone who may be on the fence about this, let me assure you, this is a fantastic display. True to word, my monitor arrived with zero dead or stuck pixels.

    * Bright
    * Colors are surprisingly good for a TN panel, although maybe not as accurate as I'd like. Panel seems a little warm out of the box, and calibration seems to swing too much one way or the other, still beautiful.
    * No discernible light bleed
    * Freesync range is excellent
    * 144 hz is truly a fantastic experience
    * Bezels are unobtrusive

    * I'm an average user, with no use for VESA mounting, but my god is this stand pitiful.
    * External power brick keeps things thin but adds external bulk and may be difficult to place elsewhere.
    * Power brick seems to make low electronic hum even when nothing is on, kinda annoying.
    * Viewing angles are really unimpressive. Color shifts occur wildly past approximately 20 degrees from center. You will need this to be mounted center head-on and at eye level for best experience.

All in all, I am very happy with my purchase, however please note that Monoprice's "Next Business Day" shipping option leaves much to be desired, and they were not entirely helpful when reality did not entirely live up to this namesake.

Meh. Came with a stuck pixel and has a lot of ghosting.
I can see now why this is at such a low price point. It may be 1440p, but it has a bad response time (they don't even put that in the specs) and it came with a stuck pixel, which is something many other customers reported. If those 2 things don't bother you, then by all means, get it. However, I will be returning it soon.

Cheap and Actual Quality for the price!
    First off I'm running it with a GTX 1070 and i5 6600K.

For a monitor this cheap I didn't expect it be as good as the $600 range 144hz monitors, but boy was I wrong. This is a Freesync monitor, but even so your Nvidia cards will run flawlessly on it. I've had no input lag or even any dead pixels.
Monoprice even goes the extra mile to make sure your package arrives safely with their designated couriers!

Though this is a TN panel; if you're not going to use it as an extra TV screen or don't really care about true colors then there is absolutely no reason to not get this monitor.

The only real complaint that I have is that the pre-packaged HDMI cable is too short and the bezel seems a little flimsy at times, but overall it's a quality product for how much you're paying for it.

I give it 5/5 because the downsides dont outweigh the fact that I got this monitor for $225 compared to the $600 I would have to spend for an Asus monitor or better.

I will update the review as time goes on because I have had it for only under a week. These are just my own first impressions.

    Amazing monitor for the price
This monitor is surprisingly good for the price range. It performs similar to monitors that cost twice as much. The colors and brightness are excellent. Of course, it is a TN panel so the contrast and response time could be better, but it's not a deal breaker at all. Unless your budget is in the 600-700 range, you will be hard pressed to find a 1440p 144hz monitor that looks this good for under $400-500. It is pretty bare on features but I'm ok with that. I play lots of FPS games and this monitor has been great for that. I also received 0 dead pixels on mine, but I know MP will exchange if even 1 is found. If you are on the fence about this monitor, just get it you will be glad you did.

    Both GOOD and TRUE! A+
Thought it was too good to be true, but i was wrong! Perhaps i got lucky but I dont have any motion blur, I even did the UFO test and it was too little for my amateur eyes to tell. Great choice for those looking for bang for their buck, high performance with no frills. I dont need a fancy brand or nice bezel. Very satisfied.
