Are the tubes easily replaceable if needed? Where would you buy them if needed?
    A shopper on Aug 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: EZ - You might need to spin off the nuts around the tubes to get a good grip. Haven't replaced mine yet but I bought a replacement set for cheap on Ali Express so I'm ready when I need them.
The transformer(s) on this amplifier produce a considerable amount of 60 cycle hum. There is also a small amount of hum bleeding out through the speakers. Is this normal behavior?
    Derek J on Sep 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, a small amount of hum is normal from the transformer. You should hear this through the speakers. If you are hearing hum from the speakers please contact our RMA dept. to get an exchange.
I have noticed the middle (larger tubes) do not light up like the smaller tubes, is this normal ?
    A shopper on Aug 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is normal.
Can hook this up to my cellphone(galaxy S7) to play?
    A shopper on Oct 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You should be able to via Bluetooth, though I do not have a Galaxy S7 to test that. The Bluetooth works very well with my iPhone 7 so I'm sure it will work for you. Once connected, the amp will connect automatically to the last phone used when it is turned on and the toggle is set to "Bluetooth" and sounds very good.
    is this 110-240v?
    New User U on Aug 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you care to read the PDF manual, you will note that it is 110-120v 60Hz..... I would carefully reconsider using a step down transformer, albeit it will work, but the background hum may be more noticeable due to the lower 10Hz frequency. (transformer is wound for 60Hz, the step down will feed 50Hz.) It should work, but different hum style.
ok how do I set the bluetooth code, I don't want my neighbors to pair into my system???
    Ban T on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a private pairing system - if you are paired, no one else can see it or displace your connection - I would recommend just turning it over to BT when you are ready to use it and if you have paired previously, it will automatically pair with your device.
Does this amp clip easy , does it have a headroom problem , it distort on some peak when looking at video?
    A shopper on Oct 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not noticed any, I primary use it with my iPhone Bluetooth and it sounds great. I would imagine that if you put in a powered input instead of a line input to the amp it would clip.

    Terrible quality control
I was incredibly excited to receive this item after ordering it, but that excitement quickly faded after plugging it in.. after the initial warm up time it produced a constant 60 Hz hum that was very noticeable, even when listening to music. I immediately put in a support request, but before i even received a response i learned that the connector for the Bluetooth antenna literally fell off. No significant for, or in fact any force at all was applied to it, I simply found the antenna laying behind the amp on my desk after coming home from work today. "rugged design and rigid quality control standards" are not words i would use to describe this product.. I will amend my review if and when these problems are fixed, but until then I whole heartedly recommend that you do not buy this product

PROS: it lights up sort of
it might sound good if it worked, but I cant tell because mines broken

    CONS: Loud 60 Hz hum
    Bluetooth antenna literally fell off
    extremely poor quality control

It looks WAY better than it sounds!
In fact, it's appearance is the ONLY thing going for it. I was so disappointed because I was really hoping for even just an average performing amp. It couldn't even do that. I realize it's only 25 watts but done correctly 25 watts can be plenty. This was to be a lite duty audio system for the living room with the bluetooth feature used to pair with my phone. The amp was connected to a pair of Dahlquist DQM-5 speakers which are very efficient. After letting it warm up I connected an iPod to it via RCA cables and it sounded just OK at low volume. The problem was the amp started to clip badly at one third volume and was not listenable at half volume or above. Completely under powered main stage (the tubes are the pre-amp stage). I'm usually happy with Monoprice but not this time. I paid the shipping to return it and Monoprice gave me a "partial refund" for some reason.

    PROS: Appearance

    CONS: Very bad performance.

    Nice Hybrid Tube Amplifier
Nice sound, especially for music that was from the era of tube amps. On oldies you get to listen to the music as it was heard when the songs first came out. On newer music you hear the presence that is missing from electronic and digital amplifiers. The hybrid part is the power portion of the amp and does not change the voice portion which is tube. So you get the reliability of modern power and the presence of tube sound. The unit looks nice and can be displayed for everyone to admire.

PROS: Great Sound, Great looks, Easy to use and set up. Connected immediately with my iPhone.

The tubes are Chinese copies of Soviet Union made tubes and are of lower quality. When the tubes need replaced (what you think tubes last forever) I will use the Sovtec tubes to replace the Chinese tubes.

    Excellent Piece of Audio Equipment!
I love mine...and I got it second hand...been using it constantly for 2 months now with my Fluance SX6w Speakers and the monoprice affinity cables...I have a nice GE Pro (wally world) stereo to RCA line running from my Amazon Echo Dot and the sound quality is phenomenal! The clarity is amazing and with just the 25 watts i cannott turn it past halfway in my bedroom without everyone hearing it downstairs. If you can get these on a "deal" don't hesitate to purchase as its a beautiful to look at with very detailed sound quality. Also I have noticed bluetooth'ing it to my DOT provides superior sound quality then Bluetooth from the stereo if that matters.

Great Value. Really pretty. Good sound.
OK - You have to accept that this amp is rated at 25W so don't expect a powerhouse. Having said that, this thing gives beautiful smooth clear sound through my TV speakers (Andrew Jones Pioneers). If you're experiencing distortion you may be overdriving the input. Otherwise, I have mine hooked up via bluetooth to my B6 OLED TV and other than having to pair it again when I turn on the TV, it works great. Very very happy with this great looking retro component especially at the price. It is a refurb but it looks and works as new. I think the tubes are just for show but they do look neat!

    Sounds Great
I'm not sure why people leave bad reviews because they bought the wrong thing. This is a 25 watt stereo. If you connect this to a $500 set of speakers that are designed for 200+ watts of course it's not going to sound that great. Its like putting fire hose on a lawn spigot.

    PROS: Rich sound

    Worth the cost
No disappointment with this for a small desk-top system with shelf speakers and headphones

    Sounds grea - Easy setup
Can't complain. Needed an amp to connect my turntable. I used a pre amp to boost TT signal to amp......sounds great. Bluetooth works great. No complaints.
    September 19, 2016
All things considered, a good value.
There's some hum until it warms up, which can take several minutes. Also occasional interference on Bluetooth. This amp won't compare well to a top of the line tube amp, or even some mid-range electronic. It serves as an acceptable bookshelf unit, pleasing to look at and a great conversation piece as a hybrid. The RCA input is useful.

Much better than I expected. I'm running it through some B&W book shelf speakers and don't notice any low level noise. Bluetooth works very well too.
