    BEST ANSWER: Hello,

    We recommend PID 21817.
    Can this receiver be used with one of your HDbaseT 4x4 matrix devices such as the Blackbird or the out of stock 4x4 matrix switch?

    Doesn't last...
    First order - 4/10/2015 lasted till about 10/1/2015
    Second order (RMA) - 10/5/2015 lasted till 3/3/2016

    I've had two sets of HDbaseT product from monoprice. They perform excellent. However, This is my second unit to go out in under 1 year. Each product lasted just over 5 months. I'm very hopeful it's just a bad power supply. Have ordered a replacement from amazon. Very hopeful replacing the power supply will fix the issue. As a long time customer I expect a higher quality from monoprice.

    Great While It Lasted
    This product performed very well for about thirteen months. Now I cannot get it to connect with the transmitter.

    PROS: - Inexpensive
    - Easy to use

    CONS: - The Ethernet port on the back is near the edge and makes it very difficult to get a shielded CAT-6A cable connected when installing in a standard electrical box
    - Only lasted thirteen months

    Handshake issues, unreliable
    I bought the wall plate receiver and regular extender for an 80 foot run. The system was going to be hidden and poorly accessible when fully installed. During my initial testing everything worked fine, but after I ran the cable, I couldn't get the signal to work. Shorter cables didn't work. Direct connection without using a receiver didn't work. Different combinations of the order of connection hook up and power-on didn't consistently work. Monoprice eventually suggested a very specific order of hooking up the Cat6/power cords and powering on each system. I had already given up as I subsequently had read many reviews (not on the monoprice website) that complained of major issues when using these HDBaseT with receivers, Even if I could have gotten it to work, I would have been worried about the system crashing and requiring a complicated 'reboot'. I don't feel anyone should have to worry about cables crashing... In the end I bought an 80 foot one-way HDMI cable which works well for 1080p. Might need to upgrade for 4K but won't be using this system.. Would consider an optical cable in the future, but given the outrageous, non-refundable duties and brokerage fees of shipping from monoprice to Canada, won't be using monoprice.

    PROS: Potential to work over long cable runs

    CONS: Poor reliability. Need for separate power source. Complicated troubleshooting, especially for a cable that may by hidden and poorly accessible.

    Bad after a year?
    I can't seem to find the warranty info on this. I hope it's more than a year - this is the second I've had to replace out of only 6 or so installed. Frankly, the challenge or having to replace them almost outweighs the convenience of having the slightly cleaner look behind the TV. - And since the IR can't be swapped, or used directly from a control system, I'm now using different go-to HDBaseT extenders.

    PROS: Cost-effective for HDBaseT,

    CONS: Short lifespan,
    IR can't be used with 1/8" minijack from control system or to a device - must use the blasters that come with the product
    Blasters don't stick to cover an IR port, but must be placed nearby
    Blasters are large and ugly when placed near or on TVs (ugly)

    My biggest complaint about this BaseT receiver is the fact that you need to supply 5V through a 5V power supply (included). I bought this for having the cleanest possible installation and having to supply power from the front does not help with that goal. I also wish that it provides 1Gbit (for other connected devices), comes in white rather than silver and occupied only 1 gang instead of 2 (though I see that this might be hard to do without overheating). Having said all that, I am still happy with the device so far.

    PROS: * Reasonable price

    * Ethernet ports for other devices

    * Status LEDs

    CONS: * External power required

    * Silver color

    * Size

    * Only 100 Mbits

    Working with Blu-Ray 3D
    I bought this with 10680 the HD BaseT Extender box. I put the Extender box in my audio/video rack and put this wall plate in a double gang box up near a projector. I was trying to get Avatar 3d Blu-Ray to play in 3d on my Panasonic AE8000U projector. My previous extender was a $70 JTech setup I bought on Amazon, which used two cat6 cables and worked OK for 2D but wouldn't work with 3D. The message kept saying "no 3D display detected." These Monoprice HDBaseT devices did the trick, now I can watch 3D, and on only one cat6 cable. Don't know yet how long they will last but so far so good!

    PROS: Works for Avatar 3D Blu-Ray

    CONS: Wall plate did not come with the screws to attach to mounting box, which I found strange, but when I checked with Monoprice they verified it doesn't come with screws. I had to buy these screws on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00368CEZ2/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. If you don't have screws it still works because it fits pretty snugly into the box, but I'm subtracting one star anyway.

    I've had this product installed for a couple of months now and have been very happy with its performance. Set up was a breeze. I won't blame this product for the fabulous fun it is to run cable through walls and attics. I will thank it for only having to run just one. Now I've got HDMI and Ethernet where I want it. My setup is two cable boxes, two BDPs, PS3, x-Box, Apple TV, running HDMI into a receiver with HDMI1 out to a main viewing room and HDMI2 going to a 4x spitter with three of the outputs going to three different TVs - two of them via this rx and a corresponding tx box. That's a decent amount of connections at full HDMI and I was most worried about every step in the chain being happy with the HDCP handshakes. I had a "moment" when that proved true when I started it 1st time, but powering everything down then up again was all it needed and it hasn't missed a beat. I haven't experienced any dropouts or reduced clarity or any other shortfall. I leave it on even when not in use to avoid any HDCP hiccups and it runs warm but not hot so I don't expect time to wear it down. As there's not so much available in Australia yet, I looked fairly wide for this HDBaseT tech and this is good quality at a fair price. (Note: I have given the same review under the tx box as it is part of the same install)

    PROS: Simple to get up and running. Works as advertised. Good finish and appearance

    CONS: Can't fault this end of the pair. The IR cable length issue at the tx end isn't a problem here.

    Flawed, but still works
    Purchased this receiver to go with free standing extender (PID 10680). Connected via 100' STP cat6A (PID 5907). Watched the entire hockey game last night on the projector with no dropouts or signal loss issues at 1080i. (Used to get frequent dropouts with the 75' HDMI cable at 1080i.) The port for the catx cable on the side really is a pain. It causes the whole unit to shift to one side and then the screw holes don't line up in the box even if you can get it to fit. So, your only real option is to notch the side of the box or go with a different solution. Since The functionality is important to me, I'm going to make another hole in the wall a few inches over so we don't have to modify the floor joist....which means a drywall patch. Your install may be different, but you shoudl plan ahead if at all possible if you're going to use this unit.

    Other reviewers have said that the power supply goes bad after a few months. I can't comment on that since I received the unit yesterday. However, I will say that the USB chargers and other power supply items I've purchased from monoprice have been sub par. (TV mounts, cables, and even guitar have been great.) Apparently you can buy a replacement power supply from amazon that is better quality.

    This receiver works in my setup, long term results pending.

    Yamaha RX-V675 with BluRay, Xbox360, Wii (upconverted by receiver), and Uverse (Motorola)

    Receiver HDMI out to a powered HDMI splitter (over High Speed HDMI cable)

    standard speed HDMI cable from splitter output to TV

    HDMI High speed cable from powered splitter to HdbaseT extender (PID 10680)

    100' 24AWG cat 6A STP to this HDBaseT receiver

    4' high speed HDMI cable to BenQ 1070.

    There is a slight blackout if I turn the TV or projector on/off while watching the other unit. Assuming this has to do with renegotiating the handshake. Signal did return in a few seconds with each test as expected.

    Good luck, we are all in this together.

    PROS: Passes a 1080i signal consistently where 75' HDMI cable (PID 6062 with booster) would not.

    Not dropouts from Yamaha RX-V675 with BluRay, Xbox360, Wii (upconverted by receiver), and Uverse (Motorola).

    CONS: Cat 6a output on side doesn't fit into a standard 2 gang low voltage box. You'll need to buy a 3 gang box and add a blank or notch out the side of the box.
