Questions and Answers
I have Cat5E throughout the house structured wiring. I plugged this in next to my DirecTV receiver, patched the connection through to the garage (150+ feet), plugged the receiver in at the TV in the garage and voila, flawless picture. I've installed Wireless HDMI in a few rooms at almost the same cost and even though it works, there always seems to be a hiccup when the TVs in the bedrooms served haven't been use for some time. I'm going to run this for a few weeks but will probably replace the wireless devices if it continues to perform.
Will report back then!!!! For now, two thumbs up.
PROS: Simple setup
Works on Cat5E as advertised
They just work
CONS: No thus far
Both units ran hot with the receiver somewhat hotter. For $200, I expected a product that would work for a few years. This is unacceptable for modern solid state devices.
Monoprice, what would you do for customers who purchased these units that failed so soon after the warranty?
