Would not work. Clearly I misunderstood the specs, or they're wrong.
The "spread" for the mounting feet was about one inch short. I ended up making my own brackets to extend the brackets as I was in a pinch.
PROS: Well made
CONS: Hard to understand what the projector will actually mount to.
Assembly instructions are terrible.
There was also a bit of an issue with the projector I own having its mounting holes a few inches from the center of mass, which makes the mount want to tilt. Luckily, I was able to tighten the hardware enough that it would stop.
My last concern is that the adjustments are difficult to perform when this thing is hanging a foot from the ceiling and you cannot see the screws. Every adjustment introduces an unwanted adjustment along or around a different axis.
Anyway, after about 2 hours it's hanging securely and the projector is aligned. I would not NOT recommend it, but be prepared for some frustration.
PROS: Cheap as hell. Looks reasonable once installed. Cable management is useful.
CONS: Machining sloppy in places. Instructions are terrible. Adjustments are imprecise.
CONS: Everything! from the mount to customer service.
My apologies for the trouble you had with the mount working with your projector. I can get an RMA setup for you for a return, I would just need an order number to get the process started. Again my apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
PROS: Looks great
CONS: Bad instructions
PROS: Easy to install. Exactly as described. Looks great..
CONS: Had to drill extra mounting holes in center of ceiling mount to make sure it hit the joist.
PROS: Great quality product. Easy installation. Good price.
PROS: Great mount at a great price. Pretty easy to put up
PROS: Good price
CONS: Instructions are laughable
Not a con, but would like to see a some fine tuning screws added to the design
CONS: needs passage for wire inside.
