Will this ever be available in black, gray or other dark color?
    A shopper on Aug 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Check out product 27857. Similar 12-Outlet surge protector in black. Some differences in specs and layout but it might work if you need the darker color. Hope this helps.
Does this have an off and on switch?
    A shopper on Jun 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Next to power cord in has a rocker switch labeled off and reset, putting it in the off position kills power to device, putting it back in the reset position powers up the device, so I am guessing it is a ckt breaker that you could use as an on/off switch. I have 3 of them , no problems to date.
Does this have a right angle plug?
    A shopper on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, it is a straight plug.
How long is the power cord?
    Gilbert M on Jan 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Around 6' in length

Fortunately haven't had a need to test the surge protecting capacity, but as I understand it has rather high ratings. Didn't see this box earlier, but everything else I have to say is in the pros and cons.

PROS: I really like the USB charging ports in the middle. Helps me avoid using those sometimes bulky converters that come with the products. And the spacing of the AC ports allows me to use the bulky AC/DC converters for other products without covering up any other ports, but isn't so big it become unweildy.

CONS: The green lights on the side are really bright if they are in the same room you're trying to sleep in. I ended up putting duct tape on them. Enough light comes through for me to see them when I want to, but I don't have that green glow lighting up that entire part of my room at night.

    Solid Surge Protector
I bought this surge protector cause it was on sale and i need a decent surge protector for all my computer stuff in my room. It has great spaced out spots for your devices plus 2 usb to charge any of your devices ie your phone and tablets. I love buying things from monoprice but if monoprice can either make a newer version of this with a button to turn of the led's or b) no led's at all that would be great because its a real annoyance. If monoprice fixed the led issue I believe its a solid bang for the buck and definitely a competitor again my belkin surge protector. If the led's dont bother you or its a location you wont notice it it's a great bang for the buck.

    PROS: -12 ports

-2 usb ports for charging devices

    -Greatly spaced out

-Has covers/sliders to close ports that arent used

CONS: -LED is really bright annoying if its in your room

-angled plug would be nice for those tight to reach spaces and not have to worry about it getting unplugged.

Really nice, I recommend them highly!
Like many other items I have purchased from Monoprice, I was pleasantly surprised by these power strips. The "grouped" outlets are spaced well plugs with those wider "ears" fit just fine. The four corner outlets have more than enough space for even the largest "wall warts". People have mentioned the green lights being too bright. I don't know if this has changed on the units I received (I bought 4 of them) I do not find them to be too bright at all. I have one in the living room and can see it all the time and it is not too bright. I also like that some thought went into the design and not just a round L.E.D. sticking out of the top. Great product at a very good price.

PROS: smooth finish, easily wiped clean, plenty of outlets, slim (thin) design

    CONS: None at all.

    Bright Lights
Overall an excellent surge protector with great features at an excellent price.

PROS: Plentiful and well spaced plugs with room for those w/charging transformers at the plug end. Two usb charging ports. This is a well thought out surge protector.

CONS: A 90 degree power plug would help when wall plugs are behind furniture. I had to purchase an adapter for my situation. The green lights are large and emit too much light for a bedroom setting. They need a switch or if they could simply be pushed in to darken it would be great.

For someone with multiple computers, smart phone, tablet, etc., this 12 outlet surge unit is very helpful. I placed a strip of aluminum foil over the upper LED lamp to mute the distraction. I also bought a 90 degree grounded plug adapter to allow me to plug the unit in close to the wall. The supplied plug has a heavy cable and would stick out a couple inches from the wall. If you mount yours to the wall, be careful to place the four screws precisely.(If I did this again, I would make a paper template showing the mounting holes on the back of the unit then drill the guide holes from the template.) If you mount on drywall, you probably will need at least two screw anchors. The mounting holes will not reach studs on both sides.

PROS: plenty of surge protected outlets

    plenty of grounded outlets

extra space for wall warts (2 surge & 2 grounded)

    two 2.1 amp USB chargers

able to mount flat on the wall

CONS: green LED power lamps very bright

power cord plug sticks out from wall

    Great Power Bar
I ordered this to replace an old 6 port power bar that was attached to my office wall. It works and looks great. I was concerned that the safety covers might be a bit annoying, but I was wrong, they are barely noticible. Some might find the green lights on both sides of the unit a bit annoying, but I think they are cool. The only thing I regret about ordering this, was that I only ordered one.

Room for big wall warts, and then some.
It is under a bedroom desk with a big desktop and accessories.
I have to figure out how to block the green LED lights.
They light up the otherwise darkened room.

PROS: Room for big fat wall warts, without blocking any outlets.

    CONS: The green LED lights.
They light up an otherwise darkened room.

Nice surge protector. I like the USB ports as it almost eliminates the need to plug in all your various charging adapters. Would be nice to have more ports.

PROS: Charges iPad (3rd gen) fine

CONS: Green "Grounded" light too bright

    I'm happy to have this
As soon as I see Monoprice is willing to put its own name on it, I'm 3/4 sold, because the company takes care of its customers instead of just its sales.
For my needs this is the best size of power strip one of whose most important features is the extra space around plug-ins to accommodate bulky A/C adapters. The adapters not only have enough 'elbow room', they have 'tail room' too: The cords can bus down the centre of the strip, they don't need to hang over the sides. (Where there's no issue of conflict between EMF this helps keep the work area tidy.)
As well, the adapters plug-in from the sides.
Both the length of the power cord and the visual appearance of the board are mature and considerate. (If you're wondering why I use those words look around your workspace: How many glowing, glaring, shining, flashing, short-corded and otherwise short-sighted devices aren't simply mature and considerate? I want a workspace not a pinball arcade.)
For the job this power strip does I probably wouldn't have trusted it if its regular retail price were less.

PROS: Devices can plug into the strip from the sides rather than in a row in line with the power cord.
Bulkier A/C adapters have room to sit side-by-side.
    'Cooperative' visual appearance.
