12 Outlet Power Surge Protector w/ Coax Protection - 3420 Joules
Protect your electronic equipment from damaging voltage and current spikes with this Monoprice surge protector!
This model includes twelve protected power outlets, 4 of which are positioned for AC power adapters, and two pairs of gold plated coaxial/RF line protection circuits. The clear plastic tabs on the sides of the unit illuminate green to indicate when the surge protector is providing protection to your equipment and when a proper ground is detected.
When the protection circuitry has been fully consumed by power and current spikes, the protection light will no longer illuminate, indicating that the surge protector should be replaced. When the grounded tab is not illuminated it indicates that there is a problem with the house wiring and that the ground is not properly connected to the power outlet.
The surge protector has 4 keyholes on the back, allowing it to be secured to a wall or other surface.

As a small business person offering mobile tech services, I love that Monoprice offers such amazing values on cables and accessories that I'm able to resell them at a very good/competitive price and still turn a decent profit. Sadly, this is not so on MP's new line of surge protectors.
I work in an area where there's a lot of lightning strikes every year, so I stock/sell surge protectors, making them available to my customers at prices very close to what MP is charging for theirs - while still making a decent profit margin. I do this by scouring the web for great deals, then stocking up when I find them. But aside from the price and profit margins, there are two critical differences... First, I only buy/stock/sell surge protectors from companies (like Belkin, APC, TrippLite and Panamax) that offer a lifetime warranty on the surge protector itself. Second, they come with a connected equipment guarantee (usually $50,000 or more) so that if the device fails to protect the equipment, my customers get a new TV, receiver, etc.
For Monoprice to offer surge protectors at these (relatively high) prices, with no lifetime warranty and no connected equipment guarantee, they're just not competitive at all. Very disappointing.
PROS: High joule rating
CONS: No connected equipment guarantee, relatively short warranty, price is a bit high - not the usual outstanding Monoprice value.
PROS: high joule rating (3420), response time is less than 1ns, reset switch, protection indicator light, 330v clamping voltage. all the specs are ideal!
CONS: all the specs are ideal, but what happens if that slim chance the surge protector can't protect your devices from a high surge? Where is the warranty?
PROS: Lots of outlets, high Joule rating, and good price. Adding a few USB ports would put it over the top!
CONS: When on, it emits a bright, blue light(!) Too bright, even. I taped over as much of it as I could, to make it bearable in the dark. Please make it a red light, that's smaller, which is better in the dark.
PROS: Excellent design, very durable with well designed placement for outlets
CONS: -Bright green LEDs used to show grounded status - I use this surge protector in my basement and when watching a movie with the lights out, you can see the green glowing from around the entertainment stand.
-No ethernet surge protection built in
PROS: Works perfectly and was the perfect fit for my application!
PROS: Works well and leaves plenty of room for those obnoxious wallwart adapters. The strip looks good with a clean layout, and contributing to the decent build quality: the cord on it is longer and heavy.
CONS: The longer cord is thick and doesn't want to bend enough to be bundled. That's the only downside to a giant power strip like this (if you can consider an appropriately heavy-gauged cord a con).
PROS: Price. Outlet spacing.
CONS: Not a big fan of the green glow
PROS: Great price
Well made product
Excellent company to deal with
PROS: -simple to mount
-high joule rating
CONS: - Bright green lighting to show "grounded" and "Protected"
