    Works Great
I have no idea of its protection capabilities (and hope I never find out) but this looks and works great. The green light is about six feet from my bed but it doesn't bother me at all... just a nice night light.

I have an alarm clock and small lamp plugged in and I use the rest of the outlets for charging my phone and tablets, when needed. Because of the size of the plugs of the latter items, you really can't use all six outlets at once but I don't run into that problem simply because I don't need all of them at once. If you do, keep that in mind.

The bolt for the outlet provides a solid fit so that I can pull out plugs easily.

    PROS: Solid fit
    Looks good

CONS: Outlets are close together so it is hard to use all 6

Good Wall Tap & Surge Protector
Works as described, bought a few for my home and some to send to past clients, they loves them. They seem to work great and the plugs are very firm, I was expecting a reset button but it has none. there is an very bright green light on it that says protected, I like it for my kitchen, it acts as a great night light but for my bedroom, I had to put about 3 layers of painters tape over it because it is so bright and annoying

    PROS: Works as described

CONS: Bright Green Light, no reset button

    Added feature provides added convenience!
I bought this surge protector to replace an aging corded protector, just to be on the safe side. I appreciate the now tidy appearance of six cords plugged in. Despite the brightness, I like the indicator light which confirms that the surge protection is active. Lastly, it's an attractive outlet, so it doesn't spoil the look of the room.

PROS: This surge protector comes with a long screw which fastens to the existing standard wall socket, ensuring a tight solid connection. Be aware, however, that "Decora" wall sockets do not have a centre screw, so this feature can't be utilized with them, though it doesn't prevent this surge protector from being used with them.

CONS: LED surge protection working light is a little too bright near sleeping areas. I've covered it with electricians tape. I suggest Monoprice re-design the product to have a small standard round LED, which is easily covered if need be.

Awesome surge protector until it heats up.
    Overall great product.

PROS: Easy to install, increases number of outlets, working great so far, and you get a free nightlight which is awesome.

CONS: Works great until it heats up. Once it heats up it emits a horrid chemical smell and is almost unbearable for most people , I wouldn't recommend this surge protector in small confined areas such as exam rooms or anywhere there might be small children or people sensitive to chemical smells. For myself this is no problem because I enjoy the smell of overheating electronics.

    If only it lasted longer
This is a very good product for using in low power consuming areas. I do not recommend it for a home office or a entertainment center. It will protect your equipment but not for the long run.

PROS: Very effective and affordable. The green light is not an issue being always on.

CONS: I bought three of these and two have lost their protective ability in less than a year. I got only 9 months out of these two.

Turns any standard two socket outlet into 6. Small light on top is a nice touch, not too bright. Screws onto existing plate which make it's very sturdy, other wall strips only plug into existing socket which results in entire wall strip being removed when unplugging.

CONS: Sockets should have better spacing to accommodate bulky chargers.

    Does the trick!
For me this power outlet does the trick. I'm using mine in an outlet that is located in my crawl space. It powers a couple of amplifiers for my OTA TV and a sump pump. The LED light gives my just enough light to see the plugs when I remove the access panel. I recommended only using the outlet in a permanent location. Since it screws into the outlet it is not very portable. The LED light might also be too bright in a bedroom location. All in all I'm very happy with this outlet.

PROS: Compact design, LED light and price

    CONS: None for me

    Compact and Convenient
I have had one of these units in my bedroom for a few years and it appears to work well. We've had a number of lightning strikes, and my components weren't affected. The green indicator light doesn't bother me. Maybe I'm just too tired and fall asleep quickly. I imagine you could put a piece of masking tape over the indicator to dim it. One unit that was in the living room had the green indicator light go out, which I assume meant that the surge protection was no longer functioning, but this was after about 5 years of service, so I can't complain.
