purchased in an attempt to consolidate surge protector space and add some dedicated USB ports. I guess I missed the documentation that stated the USB ports had a "total" of 2.4A of charging power, i.e. 1.2A per port. Did not say that in the title and not enough to charge tablets. Why would anyone still make USB chargers that will not charge tablets? Will be returning the product for a refund.
I read some reviews here and still got this product because I wanted more outlets than other products available near me.
PROS: - Lots of plugs availab.e
CONS: - The VERY bright light. I put some electric tape to hide it but it still comes out of the USB ports. - The USB ports make a buzzing noise if nothing is connected (from both cable ends). It's not loud so it's rarely during the day but at night, when trying to sleep, it's annoying!
I ordered this to go between my couch and recliner so 2 people would be able to charge their phones while leaving power outlets available for use. At first this item seemed to work well but it took a very long time for a phone to charge (2+ hours from 20% to 85%). Never worked with charging a tablet. Then it stopped charging phones at all.
The status light is also very very bright and could serve as a night light (if you wanted one) but is too bright for my needs.
Overall, it is a great concept but there are better options out there without the bright lights for around the same money.
This surge protector is very sleek and fits flush against the wall so it takes up very little space and does not sit on the floor.
PROS: 6-Plug-Ins and 2-USB power plug-ins. Fits flush against the wall/plugs
CONS: large bright LED power on indicator light that is on constantly. Not a problem for us since we are using it in a office area. Will not want to place it in a bedroom or area that low lighting is desired.
This is Great AC Socket expansion everybody needs because everybody has something to charge via USB cord. Also surge protector provides peace of mind.
PROS: Nice slick design, bright off-white color, "Protected" light works as navigation at night, comes with the screw, has a "shelf" on top on which you can place your smartphone, surge protector-peace of mind
- could have two un-foldable brackets to hold smartphones [earlier model had it]
- should have an option to turn off the Protected light - some people cannot sleep with this quite bright light
Excellent solution to the normal cord tangle in the kitchen
Installed this outlet over our kitchen counter replacing a 6 surge protected outlet that was there. We typically have 3 wall warts plugged in full time with another couple from time to time. This new outlet replaced 2 wall warts and freed up space for other items. We like it very much. Contrary to one other reviewer, we find that it will charge my pad/phone/MP3 as fast as the dedicated chargers do. No problems.
PROS: Provides significant protection for devices connected to it. Room for several items connected at once. Did away with 2 - 3 wall warts used to charge phones and pads. Power indicator lets you know it's on and protecting devices.
This outlet is so good I have bought several of them. Unlike previous reviews I don't find the green light all that bright and I do have one in a bedroom. Also one of the other reviewers stated it would not charge a tablet, it has been my experience that I can charge an iPad 2 and an iPad Air at the same time with no problem
PROS: Convenient, Stylish, Functional
CONS: Outlets are a bit close so wall warts cover several at a time
