    HDTV Antenna Purchase experience
I recently purchase a HDTV Indoor TV Antenna. I like here to let you know about my experience with the MonoPrice Web Site.
I most of the refrain from ordering on line if it's across border. You see i am a Canadian, so for me even Ordering from the USA, is sometimes a little scary. You never really know who you are dealing with a bit like a crap shot! Here is my experience with MonoPrice First i was impress with the prices vs quality and the large assortment of product that are here in Canada hard to find and most of the time more expensive. I decided to take a gamble and order a Indoor TV antenna based up on customers reviews and Price. I figure what the hell, my TV reception is so bad here and it's about $20. so what do i have to lose? Worst comes to worst 20$. i found that ordering on line with MonoPrice was quick, intuitive and secure. They even sent me a confirmation email with all the details, including price breakdown and date of delivery. Great so far so good. Well believe it or not the package containing my antenna kit arrive precisely on the date they had announce. The package contain all the parts and instructions, and in no time it was hooked to my HDTV. Reception is much better, and i now get 4 more free to air and 1 HD channel. That's a lot better than before, and believe me I live in a old Industrial Loft and my HDTV is place near a walls that carries a lot of600v, 220v & 110v lines as well as distribution Box panels. A Antenna nightmare! So it's without reserve that i recommend for the service, and the quality vs Price MonoPrice. Please note that i am real, in no way connected to them, and I write this as a service to future customers, knowing very well that sometimes "the extra push" that influence one decision to buy comes from statement from satisfied client and i am one of them. By the way excuse my english, i am a French person.

    Small improvement from this antenna
I purchased this antenna because it had awesome reviews and was supposed to be the best available. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.

BEFORE: I could only pick up one HD channel, and two very fuzzy standard def channels. AFTER: I can receive two HD channels, three slightly fuzzy standard def channels, and 3 more fuzzy channels.

According to a web site I checked, I should be able to receive 15 HD channels. That wasn't my experience.

    PROS: Small
    Light weight

CONS: Requires power (not a long cord)
No easy way to mount vertically

    Better than Others
So far so good! I went from 8-channels in one position to 6-channels in what I would have considered a better position with my older Monoprice antennae. After doing those re-scans and tests I connected this model in the exact same place and position where I was only getting 6-Channels previously. I now get 21 channels crystal clear with no issues. Anyone complaining about this product at this price is a fool.

There are so many environmental and situational issues that can cause poor reception. If you aren't comparing exactly the same environment/situation/time/placement then you aren't actually comparing anything. When people say things like "all I get is static when I plug this in"...what they are really saying is "I didn't do the research necessary to determine what stations are around me, where they are at, what type of antennae I'll need to get the most stations at the highest quality, the appropriate azimuth to get that and so on and so forth." From where I'm at there are 13 stations (and their sub-channels) at precisely 2 degrees from North at 15 to 20 miles out generally speaking. I can get away with a directional antennae at mild amplification so this antennae is perfect for me.

You might be in the middle of all your stations so you'd need a more omni-directional antennae. You might be 30 miles out and NEED an outdoor directional antennae to get any real signal at all. Compare one unit to another in the same situation at roughly the same time...fine, but don't blame this unit for your lack of effort.

PROS: It works quite a bit better than other Monoprice antennae I have tried.

CONS: No direct suggestions on design, but it could have a few more mounting choices.

    A Great Antenna
This antenna was purchased as a part of my first experience with Monoprice. In addition to the antenna I also purchased a number of pro audio cables. Everything was great and delivered on time.

This antenna replaced a $50 Terk, which always gave me problems with different local stations, and required cables and the antenna to be distractingly visible in our living room. This antenna not only blends in with our picture frames on the top of the entertainment center, it pulls more stations in and requires no adjustment for any of the channels. Works perfectly, and Im thinking of getting more for the rest of our TVs. We do not have cable, and are relying on OTA digital with converter boxes. This is highly recommended, and I am thoroughly pleased.

    Limited range
I bought this antenna as an experiment, due to the good price. The setup was easy enough, but my hopes that it might be able to pull in the major San Francisco stations (about 50 miles away), but really could only get the stations much closer. I probably had unrealistic expectations around this. If you live in an area where the stations are close by, then this is probably OK .

PROS: Works fine for clone-in stations (under 30 miles). Small, easy to place in a room.

CONS: Short range only. Can't pull in the major networks in my area (SF Bay)

    WOW ! better than cableTV
Picks up true 1080 signal if broadcasted. Cable only gives 720. My dad does not have cable available to rural in NOR CAL. But his tv show level of signal and he gets better quality than I do on my cable HD for some channels.

PROS: Works great for non cable channels !! waited almost a year to write review to ensure product is great. And IT IS !
Saved $$$$$ from big box store.
    MONOPRICE does it again

CONS: Need antenna to get signal )

This antenna does everything every other reviewer said, Thats why I bought it and that why I love it.

PROS: Recepton is nice, gets better with the power cord too

CONS: I guess if I had to write one.......There is no Monoprice store that I can walk into and just "buy" something because I saw it and know what a great place it is.

I decided not to order cable service when I moved in April and instead built one of the infamous "coat hanger" antennas which worked great except for picking up CBS. Now that football season has arrived and my favorite AFC team plays most of their games on CBS I decided to order this antenna from monoprice to see if it would help with reception. After finding a good spot to park it, I now receive CBS and every other local channel in the area with perfect reception. This definitely works well even for an indoor antenna on the first floor of an apartment building and I would recommend anyone on the fence to give it a shot. Even though it works perfectly for me, I only gave it a nine because I felt a power switch would have been a nice option/feature rather than just leaving it plugged in 24/7.

I had quite time finding an antenna that worked in my home. A friend sent me to monoprice to buy this one. It offers excellent reception, the price was right and it came sooner than I anticipated.

    Works Perfect in Southern California
Works like a charm. Plug and Play. Have my dear old 29" Sony XBR in a spare room and wanted to pick up DTV signals on my 4:3 since cable doesn't pick up certain channels. Hooked it up to my Government discounted DTV box, scanned for channels and blam, digital to analog dtv channels. Unexpected clarity for a 18 yr old tv. I had to set the antenna sideways but since it is designed with a stand for both orientations, it remained contemporary and stealthy. A far cry from rabbit ears. Just installed it yesterday, took me 5 minutes without reading instructions so I have to wait and see but so far, so great.
