Is this price for one or two speakers?
    Connor M on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If my memory is correct, it's for a pair of speakers. And they sound great for our application, background music in our salon.
What diameter does the hole need to be for the 5.25" and 6.5"? My ceiling is already cut out.
    A shopper on Feb 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The hole is slightly less than the measurement of the speaker. There is a template that comes with it and I'm out of town or I would give you an exact. It might be in the manual if you can find that online.
Are these speakers suitable for an Atmos setup? Atmos requires a wide dispersion.
    A shopper on Mar 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used 4 for my atmos setup. Sounds perfect

    ***Excellent Speakers***
My wife and I had purchased a house two years ago that had a unfinished basement. I built the basement with the intentions of building the utlimate man cave. I installed two front, two ceiling, two back and the center channel speaker to a 7.1 Sony reciever.(All monoprice sreakers) Before playing any movies I tested them to see how much power they can handle by cranking up the tunes. I had the reciever only have way up and the speakers sounded great, so I decided to crank them up a little more and they were able to handle the power with very little disortion. Finally I decided to see what movies would sound like and I was BLOWN AWAY!! The clarity was amazing!! Giving my basement the home theater sound I was looking for. Before purchasing these speakers I was going to purchase a set of JBL in wall speakers and I'm so glad I didn't. The JBL speakers were 3 times more expensive!!. I'm 100% pleased with these speakers and would recommend them to anyone looking for great sounding in wall speakers at a amazing price.

    Unbeatable at this price!
I really can't fault these little guys, even at prices 2-3 times current. I've installed these in the ceiling as rear channels, and for set-up/testing I powered them up directly by a high-end 60wpc power amp, pre amp and a cd player. The size of the drivers doesn't facilitate any low-end extension but when used as rear channels these little babies will be more than adequate! Installation was a snap and the included grille removal tool makes it simple to pull off the grille and adjust the tweeter direction if needed. I'd recommend these to anyone on a budget. Heck, I'd recommend them to anyone who needs round in-wall speakers! Why pay 3-5 times more?!

A little background - I've considered myself an audiophile for many years. I have had equipment ranging from Bryston to Creek to Mark Levinson and speakers by Dynaudio, Axiom and Definitive. Have spent far far too much on cables, and the like. As I get older my aging drummer ears can't really hear the subtle nuances that multi-thousand dollar equipment reproduces. That being said, I'm far from deaf and can tell a good speaker from a bad one.

So, I've been on a budget kick of late to find the best bang for the buck. I took a chance with these guys, and they certainly deliver. I won't be doing any critical listening with this set-up but for movies it sure beats the hell out of the speakers in the TV!

I also have the 6 1/2" rectangular pair and a center channel to install and set-up. Will write about those once they're up and running.

    Very happy with these.

I'm in the process of building a custom home and one of the big projects on my plate has been to handle the A/V portion of the home. Since this is my dream home, I wanted to make sure I thought through every decision and weighed the pros and cons of the components I chose. For in-ceiling speakers, I had a lot of opinions from others that I should opt for high-end name brand speakers. In general, these speakers were between $100-$300 a pair. The Monoprice versions were $42/pair.

I just finished the install last week and tested each room - 11 pair total - by hooking up my Sonos amp. I was really blown away. For the cost associated, I can't believe it ended up sounding as good as it did. For a system like mine, where I'll generally have several pair contributing to an overall whole home sound, they are amazing.

Overall, I couldn't be happier. I've got 11 pair running around the house and all for less than $500. Can't beat it.

    PROS: * Inexpensive
    * Easy to install
    * Very good sound

    CONS: * None

    Excellent for my home
If 10 is the highest possible rating, I'm giving these speakers a 10.

    PROS: Cheap.
Good/Great sound, depending on how much of a snob you are.
    Easy to install.
Wife doesn't yell at me anymore.

CONS: The three position switch on the item is not mentioned anywhere except the exterior of the box, and there's no indication as to what position correlates to what setting. Initially I thought it was a 4 ohm/8 ohm selector, but my meter disagrees. No big deal.

Perfect solution for outdoor zone speakers
I'm using these for outdoor zone speakers, and I could not be happier. The sound quality is exceptional, and the volume capabilities are great for blasting out noisy neighbors while grilling on the patio. 14 AWG cables WILL work with these speakers, but you have to twist the cables real tight and turn the cable as you insert it into the jack. Trim any fly-aways, and you'll be dancing the night away on the patio with friends.

PROS: Solid construction. Lengthy mounting screw/tab combination makes this product ideal for a variety of wall types. Exceptional sound.

CONS: I wish I knew there was a grille removal tool in the box! I opened the second speaker after fiddling with the first one for 10 minutes and found the small hook for removing the grille. Minor nuisance. Learn from my mistake: find the tool first!

    In Wall/Ceiling round speakers
Overall, I really like the product (bought 16 of them), just want to get this one item fixed or returned.

PROS: Speakers (bought 16 of them) work nicely, easy to install particuallarly during construction, but, still easy after. Sound is nice and the size options were very helpful.

CONS: When installing one of the speakers and pulling back a clip to put in the speaker wire, the clip broke off and could not be replaced. Trying to return or get a new one. Also for the gage (12 or 14) wire I have, the speaker clip hole opening was too small and hard to get the wire in.

I have these set up as my rear surrounds as there's nowhere on floor or walls to place speakers in this small odd shaped room. The wife was worried when she saw holes in the ceiling but is really happy with how the speakers look now. I have 6035's for the fronts, and 6317 center channel. The Onkyo receiver calibrated the speakers and they all sound great. Less clutter in the room!! No ugly wires ! Didn't need to spend more for the higher powered ones in this application.

    PROS: -easy install
    -low price
    -sound decent

    CONS: -none

Excellent quality and price. I missed the "per pair" pricing note so ordered too many. Monoprice kindly took my return. Kudos to Monoprice!

    Great Quality
These speakers were at least 3x cheaper than anything in the big box stores and work just as well or better! Put 4 pairs of speakers in the ceiling of a complete home renovation. They work great!
