Questions and Answers
I had a 24" phillips screw driver so tightening the lock screws was no problem. Without the screw driver it would have been a bit of a challenge. It does help to have them "snugged" up a bit so that it is easier to get them locked.
All-in-all, this is a quality product from a great supplier and was everything that I could have asked for.
PROS: Very well made. Sturdy and decent instructions.
CONS: None to speak of.....
even though this bracket is wide enough to span across 3 studs, i could only mount it to two of them. There were no bolt holes in the center of the bracket to line up with the middle stud. When i moved the bracket over so that one of the holes lined up with the center stud, the other holes would not line up with the other two studs. It isn't much of an issue since the 4 bolts are more than enough to hold it, but having two extra bolts in another stud would have made me feel better.
also, upon hanging the TV on the bracket, you have to slide a little catch upwards, and then tighten a screw...due to the size of the television and how close it is to the wall, it was difficult to reach in there to slide it up and hold it there while tightening the screw. still, you only have to do it once, so not that big of a deal.
I highly recommend this mount to anyone with a large TV.
PROS: Easy to hang, cost effective, holds my TV on the wall.
CONS: no built in level (who cares)
no mounting hole in the center of the bracket
PROS: I have this this holding a 80 sharp with no problems looks great on wall. Saved me at least $150 works like a charm
PROS: Easy to install. All the hardware for mounting came with it. Was able to hold me up (over 200lbs).
CONS: one of the locking pins or brackets or whatever you want to call it had a manufacture glitch. it would not screw in. so one side is not locked in.

Everything arrived double boxed and neatly packaged. The quality of the metal for the framework is incredible and I'd give it a solid run against $100+ mounts from P***less and the like. Tons of hardware was included and I happened to have all the necessary tools except for a ratchet. I apparently needed the next size socket up but made a pair of locking pliers handle the task for the lag bolts.
As for installation instructions, can we please decide whether we are using mm or in? It's confusing to go back and forth and you can end up accidentally drilling your pilot holes for the lag bolts too large. I ended up just eyeballing it and using a 3/16 bit that was shallower than the recommended 80mm depth. Did it suck manually tapping the extra length? Yes, but I made it work. Besides the scare of one lag bolt bending slightly from overtorque, all the stock lag bolts went in no problem and I was able to tap into two studs (my apartment has very bizarre spacing). The only other issue I ran into was the spacers that were included we're either too long to use with one bolt or the opening was too narrow to use with another. My solution was to carefully cut the larger spacer in half (...with a serrated knife and a hammer...DELICATELY), after which it was the perfect length. After that grueling and noisy process, the rest was a piece of cake and everything came out well.
For a novice, installation is manageable, but this was a lesson learned by my friend who helped with installation that experience makes things go much smoother. There's a torrent of problems one can run into that could either damage your tv or snap off one of the lag bolts at the head and that will be one MESSY extraction.
Long story short: this can be an easy DIY with the right friend tagging along, but you need to gauge your own experience level and determine if you're willing to risk your considerably more expensive television over self-installation. If in doubt, buy the mount (GREAT MOUNT) and find someone who can install it for you.
PROS: Everything is included and at a price that invokes friendly retorts of "you've got to be &*%¥ing kidding me"
CONS: Installation does require some guesswork, had to fabricate some parts on my own
CONS: Adjusting the tilt is challenging once the TV is mounted
PROS: Great price. Simple design. Sturdy bracket.
CONS: Mistake in mounting instructions and bad advice from tech support.
My apologies for the trouble you encountered with the wall mount and the misinformation you were given. Do you recall who you spoke with just so I can make them aware of this? I have also forwarded this onto our Product Development team for review and to make any necessary changes that may be needed. I'm glad you were able to get the issue corrected, but the above issues you mentioned still need to be addressed. Thank you again

Thank you for your continued business, it is greatly appreciated!
Because of the malformed edges (top and bottom) the bracket was not straight and could not be made level across its length. The right side drooped 3/16" below level. Monoprice would not ship a replacement overnight so I would have had to wait until Monday. I tore apart my TV room in preparation for mounting the TV and I don't want to leave it that way for 4 days. So, I'm off to buy an expensive unit at a local store.
My advice is to order the bracket well before you get your TV and check it out fully first!
PROS: None, for me.
CONS: The wall bracket arrived warped. Monoprice would not overnight a replacement.
