Depending what size holes on your tv, you have some room for height. I used the bottom hole on the bracket to determine the height of my 50". I do not think there is any height adjustment to the bracket.
Hello - I'm moving to a new home and the previous owner is leaving the wall mount. So I really just need brackets, if there are universal ones. Would the brackets from this work for "most" wall mounts? Does Monoprice sell just the 2 brackets?
Absolutely great tilting wall mount for a large tv. The hardware was beefy and fhe mounting bracket is exceptionally sturdy. I would trust even a large plasma on it. I like the easy adjustments on top, you can really fine tune your viewing angle. I will be recommending this to friends.
A million lines of instructions for something that needed 4 screws. Plus I filled up my "bolt & screw can" with all the extra hw they sent. Screwed the bracket to the wall, mounted TV, adjusted the tilt to the perfect angle and tightened. Watched TV. (Took longer to find the studs then anything else).
I purchased this mount to get my TV out of the reach of my young kids that have a taken a liking to driving their toy cars on the TV screen. This if the first wall mount I have installed and the process was very easy. I would have no reservations recommending this mount to anyone. The only drawback I found was that once installed, the TV sticks out from the wall a little further than I had expected. Not a reason to drop a star though, this is likely a result of the size/weight of TVs it will support and the fact that its a tilting mount.
I am very pleased with the product, price, and quality!
PROS: Easy to install Very sturdy
CONS: TV sticks out a little further from wall than expected.
This mount is great! we were pleasantly surprised with the overall quality and ease of adjustment. The best part about this mount is how far it tilts, a lot of the mounts in this price range do not tilt very much and look cheap - this one tilts far and looks/feels sturdy.
The only con I see is the solid back plate. If you have a pre-wired power and/or low-voltage outlet then you are limited on placement because the plates can not be centered in the back plate.
A side note - we always purchase a case of high quality lags for all of our TV mounting projects, no matter what mount we purchase. One of the key components in holding the weight of your expensive TV is the lag bolts and those are almost always the first thing to fail in a "TV catastrophe".
