Wide wall mount spans 3 wall studs and is extremely sturdy. Gives the user more freedom in the placing of the mount. This was the only wall mount I could find that I could hang centered on my mantle because I had to work with 3 studs (one directly in the center) instead of 2, any other mount would have been offset left or right. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to hang a mount but does not want to be limited to designated positions between 2 studs.
Mounted 65 VT60 Panasonic Plasma (100LBS), did not use tilt just wanted some space behind TV for heat escape. Secured to 3 wall studs could have done 4. Take your time do it right the first time, use proper drill bit size and go deep enough for whole bolt to avoid breaking also lubricate with light oil or soap. Could have spent a lot more for something else that was no better.
PROS: Sturdy, easy to install with a little planning. Assortment of spacers and bolts for different mount patterns. Great price.
Ooops, I accidently left a review on the wrong product. This is the product this review is for.
BRAND Panasonic MODEL TH-58PE75U WEIGHT 123.5 lbs OWNERSHIP 3 mos as of this writing
I bought the extra-wide model because I am mounting a big plasma and you want the widest wall plate you can get but not so big that it's exposed. That way, you can reach more studs to mount it onto and have more leeway for centering the plasma side-to-side.
Like most people have suggested, the lag bolts that come with this model don't seem that strong. I went to the hardware store to get better ones. I also have a Sanus mount and the wall plate of the Sanus is definitely a thicker gauge metal. The Sanus also came w/thicker, longer, stronger lag bolts. The angle adjustment mechanism isn't very user friendly but what do you expect for this price? I plan to adjust the angle of my tv just one time, so this doesn't matter to me. I actually wanted the non-adjustable mount but it was OOS. But, I'm glad I got the adjustable in the end because...see next paragraph.
Some people complain about the 3-4 clearance from the wall, but it's fine for my big TV and actually great since it gives me plenty of room for all the cables.
The bolts and assembly of the parts are pretty good, I wouldn't call it super-rock solid like a tank but parts aren't flimsy either.
I will try to provide updates on this product periodically in the future.
Overall, it's pretty good for the price. But, they should make the wall plate thicker and provide stronger lag bolts.
Much sturdier than more expensive ones I had looked out. Only down side is the vertical mounts were not long enough for my Sharp 65". I had to buy a couple of bars at a hardware store to bolt to the existing vertical brackets. I would definitely buy this mount again.
I used this mount for my 58" panasonic plasma. The mount installs with ease and only requires a few tools. I am not worried at all about it falling. Very sturdy construction. The exact same mount you would find at a big name store for less than 10% of the cost. A++++++++
I had no difficulty installing this bracket. I am not mechanically gifted and yet, this was easy! The bracket could hold up any size screen that I could think up! The only problem is that the bolt heads were too small and tried to sneak through the holes. A few larger washers, and youre in business!
I've only purchased tv mounts from Monoprice and they've not let me down. The price is unbeatable and the products work as advertised. What else could you want?! This model works exactly as it's supposed to and holds up my 100 lb Samsung TC-P65ST60. The angle is adjustable as described, has a low profile, and works perfect over the fireplace.
