I purchased 2 46" LED LCD tvs and ordered 2 of the 6522 - Low Profile Wall Mount Brackets last week and hung both of them up in about 2 hours. Most of the time was prep work and finding studs. A quality stud finder is a must have! The brackets feel strong and sturdy. the 2 inches of clearence makes a sleek look for a wall mount if you don't need to tilt or swivel. Any less clearence would have made it impossible to run HDMI cables. Make sure you look at the back of your tv and see if the connections run parallel or perpendicular from your tv. Make sure you predrill before screwing the lag bolts it the studs.
PROS: - Quality of construction - Ease of assembly - Easy installation - Did I mention price - Easy to take TV on/off wall - option to lock tv to mount
CONS: Instructions need to be more detailed. I was able to put 2 & 2 together, but I can see it being confusing for some people.
I used the ultra slim profile about 2 weeks ago to mount a new 60 in Samsung. Honestly it was too close to the wall and made having heavier cables a little difficult to use.
This mount however I selected for my new 42 inch because I wanted just a hair more room for the premium cables. Very glad I went with this one. It is still a low profile mount and you wont feel like your TV is resting on the cables as opposed to the wall. Additionally the mount looks and feels to be of higher quality than the ultra slim mount.
Very pleased and would recommend this to anyone.
PROS: High Quality Plenty of Hardware Low Profile Locking Bracket
I bought this mount to install a 42" LCD in our game room. Though I haven't completed the installation yet I don't anticipate any concerns or issues with getting it mounted. I believe it's rated for 65 lbs. It looks as though it could easilly handle that, plus some. The locking bar that slides into the mount to prevent the television from being push up and coming loose is a simple and unique design. Shipping speed was quicker than expected and packaging was done very nice. I would not hesitate to recommend monoprice to anyone interested in purchasing electronic items.
PROS: Hardware packaging is like none I've ever seen. Individual pouches with various hardware items to complete mount. Instructions are clear, concise and easy to understand. Quality and appearance of mount itself is much better than expected.
I got this mount for my 37" Vizio TV. Worked great and looks amazing on my wall. All of the hardware worked very well. Contrary to others reviews about the bolts, they aren't that long and they work very well in the wall studs. I do structural loading for a living and these bolts are perfect. I don't believe Monoprice would send out bolts that weren't appropriate for each application, to avoid lawsuits... Anyways the quality seems very good even with the China stamp on the metal. I like the powder coat finish. Nice Touch! Plus the price is amazing!
Great product. It was well packaged and had all of the mounting hardware. I installed to of these in our home with a sony Bravia 40" and a Samsung smart 46". Both installs were quick and painless. Would deffinatley buy these two mounts again!
PROS: Quality materials, simple design, low cost
CONS: Had to pick up 4 washers at Lowes to go on the back of my Sony Bravia 40" LCD.
After buying a new house, we decided to mount the tv on the wall. I've bought from Monoprice previously, and other than issues with a cable, have been quite happy. The process I went through with this mount has made me question my belief.
Having finished the process, mounting a tv is not a difficult task. Drill into the stud, make sure the stand is level, and mount the tv. Monoprice made this a very difficult process. The instructions are only a page long, folded in half. All the measurements are in metric, which doesn't work because, for better or worse, I'm in the US and all the drill bits I could find are in imperial.
The instructions also say to use wall anchors, and being a novice, I did...but this is totally unnecessary in a stud. With no clear instructions (the instructions say to use 10mm or 6mm drill bit, with no explanation of why they are different) I drilled a 3/8th bit into the stud, when I needed a 1/4 bit to put the wall anchor in. Most of the anchors went in fine, but one fell apart when I was screwing the mount into it, requiring me to back out all anchors (very difficult) and start over. After talking with some experts, I finally realized I just needed to drill into the stud, and I was able to finish the install very quickly.
Again, if Monoprice had spent more than 5 minutes writing the instructions, this would have been a great process. Why they decided to not include both metric and imperial drilling instructions, and more instructions on how to install the mount is beyond me.
PROS: Mount works well once installed
CONS: Instructions are hideous, use metric rather than imperial, not enough information for a beginner
