This bracket worked, but was unimpressive. Metal that could be bent by hand, velcro is used to help hold rails in place, not very adjustable, overall not worth the small amount of depth saved by eliminating so much bracket.
I really recommend the 5918 that is about the same price instead of this bracket, much better design and way sturdier. And only a couple mm in depth difference, still very slim.
This really is the perfect bracket for my individual, unique situation. Not sure if I'd recommend it for a typical wall mount installation. My installation was onto a type of framework where the TV hangs on the face of exposed struts. I wanted the thinnest bracket possible, and this is it. The bracket is very heavy gauge. The vertical struts that screw onto the back of the TV have a hooked top end that hooks over the top edge lip of the horizontal strip that bolts to the wall. That part works fine. The verticals fit over the horizontal in such a way that pre-formed edges will prevent the TV from being lifted off the wall bracket as long as the TV is hanging vertically. But angle the bottom edge of the TV out away from the wall and the whole thing could be lifted off the wall bracket very easily.
More expensive models have a locking screw type thing that prevents the TV from being lifted off. This model only has a velcro type strip that is supposed to prevent lift-off from happening. I'm skeptical that it would do the job, especially during the violent movement we experience here in California with earthquakes, which was my biggest concern. But with the very open and easy access I have to the back side of the TV because I mounted it to that funky framework thing I have going on, I was able to rig up a simple way to positively tie the bottom of the TV back to prevent it from swinging forward, so that thing ain't going nowhere, and the bracket is beefy enough to support the load with no worries.
If I were to hang the TV on the face of a flat wall, however, I think I'd prefer one with a mechanical set screw locking device over just a simple velcro. But if the only thing you are worried about is the vertical loading and not the easy ability to swing the bottom of the TV out away from the wall, and you want a super thin, low profile bracket, this will probably do the job. And the price can't be beat.
PROS: really low profile. great price.
CONS: No locking screw mechanism, relies only on a light velcro strip.
Great product, I used it to hang a 65" TV that weighs about 55 lbs. i hadn't notice this before I bought it, but there are a couple magnets that keeps the TV from moving if you bump it but alows you to swing the bottom of the TV away from the wall a few inches to connect cables. Easy to install and hang the TV.
Measure and Measure again. Level and mark precisely where to drill for lag bolts. I used my own 7/16 lag bolts and the slots on the wall bracket have no up/down space for fine leveling. Not a biggee, but something to consider before jumping into the install. Otherwise a perfect product.
PROS: Price. Quality. No frills. As described. Easy install. Shipment arrived quick.
This is a straight up simple install. The brackets seem pretty secure and are holding my 55" Samsung 6400 series well. My TV is so close to the wall that it appears as though there are no brackets. Very nice product at a very low price.
PROS: Easy to install Very Slim Strong enough to hold larger screens
CONS: Will take two people to hand larger screen TV's 55" and up. Similar to hanging a large picture as hooks in rear take a few minutes to fall in place with the help of another person.
The lowest profile I have seen for a wall mount bracket yet. You have to be prepared with thin cables. Creative cable routing and maybe carving a hole in your wall to fit the power plug of your tv! The installation was very easy. There is nothing preventing the screen from tilting or pushing the screen upwards so in case or earthquake... Expect your screen to fall.
PROS: Almost flush to the wall. The lowest profile I have seen. Easy to mount and light weight.
CONS: Weak tilt prevention because of the single horizontal bar system.
