Reading reviews here is actually more entertaining than watching the TV you're trying to hang. I like the reviews where the reviewer admits to screwing up and then gives demerit to the product for his stupidity. Example: No the mount doesn't tilt. This mount is listed as a non-tilt non-swivel mount. There are other mounts that swivel and or tilt. You have to be smart enough to order which you want. The mounting bolts: Anyone should know that when mounting to a wooden wall stud you should predrill pilot holes just smaller that the diameter of ht ebolt you're using. Then lubricate the bolt threads with wax for example, just drag the threads across a candle, for example. The just tighten the bolts until they snug up to the wall. No need to overtighten, or they'll BREAK! Look both ways before crossing the street. GEEEZZE
I purchased a 50" flatscreen and ordered this mount on the suggestion of a friend. Quite simply, it was far too small for a screen that big. I could attach the top to the brackets, but it was nowhere long enough to reach the bottom holes on the TV. Used it for a smaller TV instead and worked great. Honestly, they shouldn't list it as working for 55" TVs.
PROS: Durable construction, easy to mount and setup.
CONS: Not really made for a 55" TV, but great for smaller ones.
Thank you for your review on PID 4116! I am truly sorry to hear this mount did not work with your TV. Please note that the screen sizes listed are only approximations. The VESA pattern used to mount the display and the weight of the display are the primary indicators of whether a given display and mount are compatible. If you would like, I can assist you in finding a mount that would fit your 55" TV. All I would need is the make and full model number of the TV so that I can look up the specs. My apologies for the trouble and I hope this helps!

I have use the wall mount brackets on several different Project and I really like them.... but there's one draw back about the bracket, if I didn't have a 12 inch screwdriver it will be really hard to lock the bracket.......I think it need a different lock piece.
Works great. Just as it should. I hung a 32 inch LCD TV w/ this and only used 4 screws (all in studs). It recommends 6, but I just figured after 4, the thing was solid enough (remember...only 32inch tv).
It worked easy and came with all appropriate hardware.
Thanks again MonoPrice for a perfect quality product!
