I purchased this mount to place a Samsung 24" TV also purchased from Monoprice. It will go on out covered patio for family gatherings. I wanted this 'bridging' type since I will be anchoring it to the brick veneer of the house. This larger mounting plate allows me extra flexibility when driving the anchor screws into the brick mortar. It will also accommodate a larger TV that may eventually works its way to the covered deck if it's economical to fix. But for for now it suits both intentions.
I was not sure about this item being only $22, but after receiving it quickly and installing it easily, I can definitely say it is perfect for a 16 lb tv. The tilt, pull, swivel features work very smoothly and can be tightened if it is a little loose, with the included tools, very important and consumer friendly, in case you do not have the correct sizes. The outer holes (4) are meant to go in wall studs via manual, but I was unable to do that for the wall it is on. The center holes (2) seem plenty strong when stud mounted. Could not be happier, thanks Monoprice!
Monoprice Ultra-slim full motion wall mount TV bracket
I haven't installed the bracket onto the wall yet. But just looking at the construction and quality of the built, I can say, it will do the job. The only problem I might have is the limited range over which I can adjust the mounting screws to the wall studs; you only have range of 1 inch for adjusting between wall studs. This means 17 inches + or - 0.5 inch on center. So your studs center lines range much be in the range of 16.5 to 17.5 inches. For the value, it is a good buy as nothing I can find is in its price range for what it can do for a full motion TV bracket.
I hung a 22 pound LED on the wall with this unit. No issues with the installation, however the TV can bounce quite a bit. This may be a tradeoff with the effort necessary to move to another viewing position, but it make me think this may not be as sturdy as I hoped.
PROS: easy to install plenty of installation hardware inexpensive
