Does NOT work on Dell Monitors 1905FP, 2405FP, U3014
This does NOT work with Dell Monitors! I tried this on Dell 1905FP, 2405FP and U3014 and all have the same problem. The problem is the front plate does not fit inside the recessed area where the front plate mounts to. The "specs" for the Front Plate Dimensions at 5.2" x 5.2" are wrong. The actual dimensions using my measuring tape are 6.25" X 6.25". The dimensions of the recessed area for Dell monitors are 4.75" X 4.75" square and diagonally at 6.75" corner to corner. To visually understand what I mean, compare pictures of the front plate of PID 7844 (not fit) to PID 4854 (fits). Notice the shape of the four tips. PID 7844 has rectangular tips versus PID 4854 with pointed tips. It is the rectangular tips, 1 3/8” wide, which makes it not fit inside the recessed mounting area. Working with their tech support offered no help. They only check vesa patterns of both using 100 x 100 , regurgitated what the “spec” says and insists it should work. A possible solution is to get spacers and longer screws (not included). I now have the hassle of dealing with returns.
Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 8097. A shame this didn't work out for your needs.. I will be sure to pass this info along to our product team so they can look into the matter further. Thanks for your support and sorry again for any inconvenience this may have caused. worked great for my kids 24 inch tv!! Easy to mount also.
I had a 15" Viewsonic Tv to mount in a kitchen. Since the tv was only 3lbs, this mount was more than adequate. It let the tv turn 90 degrees each way and move smoothly. One very nice feature is an additional adjustment that lets you level the monitor/tv if you don't get the mount fastened exactly level. Saved me from having to remount the mount. If you are mounting something less than 10lbs, this would work fine at a very reasonable cost. Thanks Monoprice.
PROS: Well made, feels like powder coated steel, very adjustable.
CONS: screws that came with mount were too long for my television, no problem, just shimmed using three washers to take up length.
I use this on a 20" tv and it works great. You have separable tv mount so you can attach the swing arm to the wall and the tv mount to the tv and put them together last. Looks great and functions perfectly.
PROS: The dark texture coat is very nice and blends in with black tv's. Mounts easily to the wall.
