PROS: Easy installation.
PROS: This is a very sturdy mount, that is easy to setup and works very well. The cable guides were a nice touch. The appearance is very professional. A local church member saw me opening up the packages and remarked "Those must cost a bundle!". I had to agree that they look much more expensive than they are.
CONS: This is minor, but I had to modify the front plate on one of these to handle a Samsung 40" LED TV (6000 series).
The one thing that was a pain was locating the mounting plate relative to the center of the TV. Make sure to DO THE MATH to locate the center of the wall plate relative to the center of 4 VESA holes if your installation requires. The 3 holes that hold the mount to the wall ARE NOT centered with the 4 VESA holes in the mount. If you don't do the math your TV MAY NOT FIT where it should have. It's a good 10% horizontal offset! The vertical is less, but still exists.
Overall, very happy with the purchase and quality. Just make sure to DO THE MATH if your installation requires something to be centered!
PROS: Great value
CONS: Included Documentation
...but has a steep learning curve. Too many times I intended to use this to mount a client's TV only to discover that the "petals" that make this such a flexible mount also tend to cover a vast expanse of the back of the TV. In fact, several times I have had to use a different mount in order to simply be able to plug in more than one HDMI cable.
If your TV has "edge-set" ports that run parallel to the front of the TV, you may be OK - the further out toward the edges of the back of TV they are the better off you are. But if your connections are anywhere near the center of the TV, you may be disappointed.
Nice mount in any case. Have hung in excess of 80lbs on it without incident. Like all "full motion" mounts you have to twiddle the various angles and adjustments to make it tight enough to hold still when you move the TV away from the wall, as even the strongest mount will not keep everything "square" - you have to adjust an angle here and there when moving the TV so it is level. Getting that tension just right is a PITA for this as well as any other full motion mount. But Monoprice makes it easier with a spring-loaded tension adjuster (why isn't that mentioned in the sales literature or owner's manual - it is a major selling point).
Be willing to invest some time to get it adjusted just right. Be willing to replace it if it blocks your TV's ports.
PROS: Very athletic
CONS: Blocks ports on many TVs
PROS: -easy to install
-large enough for big TVs (42")
-turns/swivels in any direction
CONS: -screws did not fit perfectly
-TV leans to one side after prolonged use
PROS: Wires are hidden by a plastic piece on the side of the bracket. Easy to hang with one person. Secured to wall by 3 screws (which are provided). Made of VERY strong metal/steel.
CONS: None that I have found so far!
PROS: Looks great, sturdy, easy to install, lots and lots of positions to view the screen. The highest degree of tilt and swivel thats available as far as i know
CONS: Screws strip easily
PROS: Simple, Clean, New and Cheap!
CONS: TV is very close to wall, so if your running HDMI you will need 90 degree HDMI angle adapters to fit in.
PROS: Great product, It does everything I could want in a wall mount. I have a 55" samsung. There is no better mono stud wall mount for the price. It goes in all directions and tilts down.
CONS: A little difficult to assemble and you will need two people to mount unless you are really strong or incredibly gifted at mounting tvs. We had to hold the TV up and put the back top bracket on after held up to the mount because of the placement of the screws. This may only be because of the type of TV i have.
Except for initial leveling and holding the mounting plate to mark the mounting screw hole locations on the wall, no assistance was needed for installation. Just plan your assembly steps to avoid wrestling with a heavy TV to insert mounting screws. The provided assembly instructions are brief, but should be adequate for most DIYers.
The build quality and hardware where much better than expected. The metal parts are rigid and nicely finished. I always use the correct size bits to tighten hardware. I drilled pilot holes into the wall stud and avoided using too much torque to reduce the risk of damaging screw heads. This is especially important if using power tools. VESA screws on the TV should ALWAYS be tightened by hand. The result was no stripped heads.
The only casualty were the flimsy plastic retaining pins on the two cable guides that attach to the arms. All the pins easily snapped right off when placing them back onto the arms. Thank goodness for cable ties from my tool box - an easy fix to hold the cable guides in place. As designed these miniscule retaining pins are just not robust enough to do anything useful except to hold them in place during packing and shipping. The cable guides themselves are a nice touch, just not functional with the existing retaining pin design. Otherwise, this mount is a 10 out of 10.
PROS: Sturdy construction. Easy to assemble and install. Fits an array of VESA sizes. Hardware was better than expected for an imported product. The TV can be turned fully in both directions with the arms extended with no sagging.
CONS: Plastic cable sleeves have flimsy retaining pins that snapped right off. Needed cable ties to secure the sleeves in place. Plan to accommodate that the mount is offset to one side when folded.
