This is a great wall mount. Needed a mount for my son's 40" TV that allowed us to move the TV from the center of his wall to the corner to allow us to open an attic stairway. This worked great. It is very sturdy, and the best feature is that it mounts to a single wall stud instead of spanning between multiple studs. Highly recommended!!!
PROS: 24" extension. Rugged construction. Mounts to single wall stud. VESA standard patterns up to 400x300.
As a happy owner of a "top end" Monoprice 2-stud TV mount, I was excited to try a single-stud mount for a tricky wall in another room. After all was said and done, I'm not sure I would pick this mount again. But it's up and firmly holding my 40" TV, all 20 lbs of it. Some abbreviated problems:
Mounting to wall: -Center of TV plate is 5 inches left of stud when fully retracted/flush with wallconsider this if trying to center the TV somewhere -3x 2" coarse wood screws are questionable for a TV toward maximum capacity, but more than enough for a new, lightweight TV
Attaching TV bracket: -Given hardware was too long or too short to mount to a new 40" Samsung (needed M8x25 or M8x40 screws, supplied M8x20 and M8x35) -Instructions are VERY poorthink it out rather than rely on directions -Be careful of where bracket attachesthe optimal position covered my TV power plug
Mounting TV: -Not supplied M8 washers as instructions recommended -Once mounted, TV bracket directly interfered with tilt-lock handle
Helpful tips: -If upgrading to lag bolts, approprite diameter is 1/4", recommended length is 2" (2" screws provided) -If attempting to use washers for final mounting, purchase M8 washers (none provided) -Minimize trips to the hardware storemake sure the given hardware will attach the bracket to the TV -Doable with one person, but will be easier/safer/faster with 2 -There is a set screw that can help adjust TV levelness after final installation
None of this should scare you away, just make sure you know what you are getting.
PROS: Strong single-stud mount Doable one person install Low price
CONS: Incompatible hardware Frustrating TV bracket Worthless instructions Not clearly specified an off-center mount
PROS: Pretty solid unit, way more solid than I expected. This is no flimsy piece of sheet metal or aluminum. This is a STOUT unit, and easily capable of holding a forty-five pound 46" LED tv. It could probably hold something bigger, but I might question the strength of a single wall stud. But if your wall is strong enough, so is this mount! Plenty of hardware is included, to cover a wide variety of mounting needs and situations.
And I absolutely LOVE the swivel-mount part to it. This is in a bedroom that needs to face either a desk or a bed, and I can swivel it back and forth with one hand quite easily. I don't fool around much with the tilt, but it's not difficult to figure out. Takes a bit more work with that.
And compared to the price that other units were selling for at BestBuy, WalMart, and even Amazon....it's a deal that can't be beat!!
CONS: The only reason I didn't give this a ten is that the instructions aren't 100% clear. Don't get me wrong, they're complete instructions, and there are pictures included, but it took a bit of interpretation to figure out exactly what went where. But once I figured it all out, it took me about thirty minutes and a screwdriver to get it all rigged up.
I was introduced to MonoPrice by my nieces husband as I've always respected his decisions and technical skills. I was pleasantly pleased to find that after ordering and receiving the product, it was the same or high quality than what I would have paid for at 4 times the cost online or at retail outlets.. Additionally to their credit, I received the product within a couple days, which is by far the fasted I've ever received product from an online order. The website is easy to follow and order through, so I can only say Thank You for a great job in providing quality and low cost.
PROS: Quality products at an extremely affordable price, with fast delivery.
The mounting plate covered access to all the wire connection points on back of a Sony Bravia. Luckily I worked around this with a right angle HDMI adapter. However, I cannot connect any other wires to back of set with it mounted. It also came with broken wire guides but it wasn't worth it to me to return the product..
CONS: Mounting plate covered access to all the wire connection points on back of a Sony Bravia. Wire guides arrived broken
A good deal, for Tv's with 30cm spacing on mounting holes
PROS: Good quality bracket at a great price. Is doing a great job with a 40" flat screen (about 35).
CONS: Only handles 30cm spacing for the mounting screws. Our new Samsung had 40cm spacing so I had to spend a few minutes in the shop making some adapter bars. I probably did not read the specs closely enough.
I am incredibly happy with the product. The arm is highly flexible, sturdy, easy to install and the built in cable concealment is great. As I said in the Cons section - if you are having issues with the spacing or shape of your TV, you may have to re-assemble the VESA brackets to fit but it is quite easy. I should have made a video to explain.
PROS: This product is of excellent quality at an excellent price. The mount is sturdy, highly adjustable, and easy to install.
CONS: We had to reverse how the VESA bracket is put together to work with the Samsung UN32D4003, the instructions should be updated to reflect this possibility.
I would highly recommend this wall mount to anyone. Monoprice makes and delivers excellent products. My friend liked it so much that he bought one for himself after spending twice as much at C0SC0 for an inferior product that was cheaply built. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
PROS: Easy to install, great adjustability, great quality and solid construction
