PROS: Incredible quality for the price! Enough said.
CONS: If you intend to use this as an articulating speaker wall mount as I have, I recommend the all steel Monoprice PID 6514 instead of this mount. I initially used this TV wall mount to elevate my center channel speaker (weight 22 lbs.)above my TV. After 1 week I became concerned as this particular mount has cast aluminum articulating arms that flexed a fair amount when loaded with the weight of the speaker. Cast aluminum generally will not give you any signs of failure (such as bending or cracking), it will just break like a piece of glass. Due to my concerns, I replaced this mount with the Monoprice all steel mount note above as steel will show bending and cracking to forewarn of failure. This new mount (same great quality) has resolved my concerns.
Great product, I mounted a small TV to a brick wall with this a year or 2 ago and it is holding up great. It moves, tilts and stays in place. Thanks, Monoprice, for freeing us of overpriced TV mounts and cables!!
Great value, no ridiculous markup like brick and mortar stores charge for these. Order was shipped out quickly and even by snail mail didn't take long to get this order.
PROS: This wall mount is quite sturdy and I mounted directly to a stud in the garage. It holds my 24" LCD with no issues and allows me to pivot it almost 90 degrees from the wall. Tilt angle works well as I have this mounted high above my work bench and have it tilited downward. I plan to buy anoher for the kitchen when I get that TV.
CONS: No integrated cord management, but for this price I simply ordered the hook and loop straps that Monoprice sells and the open frame design of this mount works well for attaching cables this way.
I instinctively stayed away from monoprice's ball-joint options offered in other item numbers mainly because this way you can tweak the friction on each hinge so the monitor can be gently positioned without having to negotiate the amount of tightness it takes to keep it in place ON A SINGLE ADJUSTMENT for a heavy monitor. Also, be sure to drill the pilot hole going into the stud deeply enough THE FIRST TIME or be prepared for a fight with that long screw. Hint: Put a little soap on the end of a long wood screw. Works like a charm going into the wood.
PROS: Adjustable friction on all movable sections tweaks and works very well, strong and movable without changing the pressure on the friction screws. Strong materials. The monitor's 90 degree turn works perfectly. Final position can be nudged to within 3 or 4 mm.
