Scary AF to attach my $1000 TV to one 2x4, but hey it works. It's been up for almost a month now, still seems sturdy. Full motion is kinda funky, as this has a tendency to get hung up in a 90 degree configuration, that you then have to guide the hinges a little bit. I have no idea how to use the tilt feature. It does not feel good to try and tilt the way it is intended, especially after levelling the TV for like 10 minutes.
I needed a wall-mount for a 48" that would let me bring it out 90-degrees from the wall. This works perfectly. I guess it helps that the TV is so light at only 28lbs - even my wife is comfortable with how smoothly it moves.
Only reason I went for 4-stars is they provide inadequate screws for mounting it to a wall. Hello Monoprice - this needs some kind of hex/allen-head bolt to attach to a wall - you cannot do it with a screw/screwdriver - so I bought my own lag-bolts.
Otherwise excellent quality and performance so far.
Easy ordering, timely delivery. Very satisfied with this product. Sturdy Construction and smooth movement. All the hardware you could possibly need included. Only thing, wish it had come with better instructions, it took a couple of back up and try against to figure out attaching the mount to the TV. But nothing once figured out everything was great!!
My son and I mounted a 50" LCD in about an hour - no problems. Be aware, however, that the TV will be a couple inches to the right/left of the center mount when fully pushed back to the wall due to the way the swing arm folds up. (probably common sense, but the instructions didn't call that out)
PROS: Strong - easy to mount to stud in wall (luckily I have a stud at the center-point where the TV was going)
Solid mount, if you follow the directions and limits
Excellant mount with full motion.
PROS: Very easy to install but you must have a stud finder which can show you the center of studs. Pay close attention to the weight limits (all mounts are rated based on mount + TV). The +/- 2 degrees lateral adjustment is great when the wall/studs are not plum. The forward tilt is locked by two separate allen headed bolts with locking nuts and will hold. In my case the full 15 degrees down tilt was the perfect viewing angle. Works great as a corner compatible mount holding a new 50 class LED at full extension perpendicular to the wall.
CONS: Do not overload the mount with an older LCD or plasma. Recommend TVs not over 40-45 pounds.
PROS: For the price, the mount does what it says it does at a much less expensive price than competing retailers.
CONS: The instruction manual was very sparse and unclear in some places. The parts are not well identified for use and there is one thumbscrew missing. I had 2 different people assist and we all thought the manual was not very helpful.
Great product and was exactly what I wanted. Had to install a 42" TV to install in the corner of the basement. I was able to install the mount and then mount the TV all by myself without help. The quality is awesome and you will not be disappointed!
