Questions and Answers
PROS: easy to mount, solid construction, great extension,
CONS: none - if fully extending - recommend bolting into wall studs or get better fasteners.
The drawbacks that I see: 1) the holes on the bracket for mounting it to the wall are not vertically aligned. So hanging the mount plumb is not as simple as finding the center of a stud and marking a plumb line on it. The holes are offset from top-to-bottom so you have to hold the bracket to the wall and put a level on the side of the bracket in order to know where the holes go. 2) The thumb nuts to lock the rotation are difficult to lock down. I used pliers and found that it still wasn't enough torque to keep it locked. The TV moved and I had to tweak it. If I re-position the TV, I expect the unit will rotate and need to be re-leveled (either with a level or eye-balled). I foresee changing the thumb nuts to regular nut that I can tighten with a wrench. 3) A little play in one of the articulation joints. Not too bad but wished it wasn't there.
All in all, it's a good bracket
PROS: Overall construction.
CONS: Mounting holes are not aligned.
Thumb nuts are tough to tighten.
PROS: Great price, love the articulation of this mount
CONS: The middle arm of the mount is not parallel to the outer two. As you swing the mount, the tilt of the TV changes.
The little plastic decorative covers fit very loosely, the slightest touch makes them all fall off.
The thumbscrews that control the tilt are hard to turn tight enough to keep my 32" TV from tilting. Had to use pliers
I'm considering getting another for our bedroom in our house. For all the flexibilty this unit allows, it doesn't stick out from the wall very far while in the retracted position. The cord management system looks purposeful and useful, but I haven't arranged our wires, yet.
PROS: Easy, fast and the best price I could find after extensive research.
Quality, versatile wall mount that fits my requirements perfectly.
I like the cord management ability.
PROS: Good quality, fit, and instructions. Would score at 9.75 if possible, since the extending components are not exactly parallel and resultant geometry a bit off. Can compensate by readily making vertical and horizontal adjustments. Would suggest adding a couple of drops of oil to all hinges (makes them move more easily). Use a stud finder if going into wood - don't want to have a swiss cheese wall :-)
CONS: Cheapo=flimsy cord wrap - add small piece of tape to completely enclose wrap arms and prevent cord from falling out
PROS: solid construction, smooth movement and adjustment, great price
PROS: Small, sturdy, price effective. Very flush considering full motion.
I have NO idea where any of the negative reviews came from! Do some planning and think the project through. Look at the (downloadable/printable) schematic. Pre-measure your TV's VESA mount holes accurately. Know your tools & use a level! Provide strong, braced support for the mount. Do all this and you'll also rate this a "10".
PROS: All metal, solid construction, holds 32" HDTV at full (24") extension without problem. Great value.
