Does this plate come in any colors other than white? Almond for example?

What plugs/jacks goes in to the speaker outlets of this plate?

BEST ANSWER: Standard RCA type Monoprice sells them, they are the same as the ones sold at Lowe's, but half the price. Do a search under home theater and they should pop up. I purchased several and they work great. You have to have the actual cable run behind the walls, draw yourself a diagram and it's very simple to follow. YouTube has several videos showing how to do it. Good luck!
I'm curious why does subwoofer use RCA instead of banana plugs? Is it common practice? By any chance someone can tell what's the rationale, I'm really curious. Thanks in advance.

BEST ANSWER: Subwoofers have built-in amps, so the cable carries a very weak signal. The rest of your speakers rely on your receiver/amplifier for power, so the speaker wires are carrying a lot more power. If you short out the sub cable, it's no big deal. If you short out the speaker connection, you better hope the circuit breaker in your amp is working properly.

    Poor Quality
As several reviewers have noted the ring nuts are somewhat oversized and prone to strip out. Three of them on my unit were so loose they just dropped off. This is not up to the level of quality I came to expect from MonoPrice and is decidedly lower than the other binding post plates they sell that are labeled as "high quality". It's really inexcusable to ship merchandise which is not fit for use

    Nice plate. Well made
Nice wallplate. Well made. One item to be aware of is that if you use banana plugs on both sides of the plate, you need to use the unscrew the plug stops a little bit so that the when you insert the second plug you do not push the first plug out fron the opposite side. After adjusting the stops I was able to make secure connections with not issues.

    Great value
Installed yesterday. Looks nice and was easy to install. Direct wired to back of plate. Banana connectors to the front. Would have liked to use banana connectors on both sides but the connectors insn't long enough (they hit each other through the plate).

PROS: High quality for low price.

CONS: Connectors aren't long enough to use banana connectors on both sides.

Used in my 5.1 install, had zero problems. Great price at half the cost of anywhere locally I could find a distribution plate. Excellent build quality. Very happy. Will come back to MonoPrice when I need more supplies.

    Wall Plate
Good For 80% of the connectors on the rear of the plate... but 2 had really loose threads. I had to take a pliars and pinch the nut into an oval so the threads would hold. After that it worked and price was great... but I would guess there might be issues for some people.

    PROS: Looks great. Great price.

CONS: Had to flip a couple nuts over to prevent stripping the threads, also had to replace all four screws with larger diameter threads due to slipping/stripping in gangbox and provided plates.

    Can't be beat
First of all, if you feel that quality is measured by spending 5x more money for exactly the same product, then the big box stores will be happy to service your needs.

I really bought this complete kit in hopes of pulling out the 2 decora strips and putting them in a 3-gang plate with a third keystone decora insert for a custom wallplate. Happy to report that these are compatible with other decora plates, providing you have the plates and inserts with rounded corners.

I had no problems with this product, and at less than 10 bucks this is a no brainer. Thanks monoprice! They will be receiving my business again very soon.

    PROS: Price, quality

    CONS: None so far

    Better use banana plugs
The binding posts on the back of this unit have threads smaller than the screw on sleeves accompanying them. This means that you can't tighten them down. Banana plugs work but at $2 a pair brings the cost up $10!

Bought this with 15 pairs of 2801 High-Quality Copper Speaker Banana Plugs and it worked like a charm. I bought the mounting bracket at home depot just because with shipping it was a wash on what would be cheaper. I used the banana clips to connect the wires in the wall to the back of the wall plate, and then used the clips from the front of the wall plate to the back of my receiver. It was a quick and easy install.

PROS: Price is unbeatable even with shipping costs
    Pre-labeled for organization
    Works great with banana clips
    Did I mention the price

CONS: Not a Con as much a suggestion. It could use a F-Type connector jack for Coaxial Cable.
