    Great value
Purchased sight unseen but have had such nice experience with Monoprice products figured I wasn't taking a great risk. I was worried when the packaging was damaged externally on arrival, and could have been sturdier, but the contents were in good condition. The mounting was done by my contractor, who didn't use the huge steel bolts that suspend the screen mount from the floor above or the ceiling. Due to the weight of the housing, it does need to be secured to either a concrete ceiling or a very sturdy wooden ceiling or floor above. I was lucky that the floor joists for the floor above ran in the direction I wanted to mount the screen, but unfortunately did not plan well enough to be sure that there was enough clearance for the screen housing for perfect centering in the theatre room. It was of by a few inches. The screen is some sort of black matte fabric that looks to be spray painted white for the viewing area. I don't have the tools to measure gain etc, but guessing it's about 1, more than adequate for my projector setup when viewing at night without a lot of ambient light. Fortunately I guessed correctly which of the two hex screws to use to adjust the extent of screen descent. As the manual clumsily mentions, it is best not to adjust the ascent setting or you will risk damaging the screen/housing by over retracting the heavy bottom bar that keeps the screen flat.
Although there are no side tensioners, the bottom bar seems to do a good job of keeping the screen flat. Have not noticed any waves or other distortions on the screen. Have to get within a foot or so to see the mesh of the screen. From typical viewing distances it is not noticeable.

    PROS: Attractive housing
Picture looks great (with Panasonic AE 4000 projector)
Multiple remote control options (IR, 12 V trigger, RS232)
    Great price

CONS: Poor instructions in very broken English

    Well built product.

PROS: Great product and even better service. The motor is very quite and drops down at a good speed. Fully recessed and it looks great in my theater room.

CONS: The metal braket to cover the inter workings of the projector did not fit properly. I removed it and it still looks good. Just annoying it did not work.

    Amazing Results
I gave this a 9 instead of a 10 just because of the documentation. I've never seen a User's Manual that was that poorly written. Whoever manufacturers this screen should seriously consider paying a technical writer a few $100 and getting a decent users manual written. It sounds like it was written in Chinese and then run through Google translator. It was also missing critical information, for example screen adjustment their are two set screws that adjust how far the screen goes up and down. The problem it doesn't tell you which screw adjusts up and down, but it does give you a warning about adjusting the "UP" screw, because you could damage the screen/motor. A lot of good the warning does without knowing which screw is which. Luckily I was able to figure it out by tweaking it just a little bit and measuring.

My contractor and I were able to figure it all out and getting it working. I love the fact the screen comes down automatically now when I turn on my projector, so cool. I've paired this screen with a Epson 8350 Home Cinema projector and have gotten amazing result.

When wife saw how big this screen is when it got delivered she was very apprehensive, it is very large and very heavy. After watching our first two Blu-Ray movies (Tangled w/ Kids, and Tron Legacy) she was amazed and really excited about our new theater setup. We also used some Monoprice in sealing speakers that worked well and our a great value.

PROS: Great value, amazing picture quality, huge screen, love the retraction into the ceiling.

    CONS: Horrible Documentation

    Excellent Buy
I bought this screen 3 years ago. It's still going strong. Installation was done with the help of a buddy. It took us a while but we got it perfect in the Ceiling. It has given our family many hours of Movie Theater watching time. Only very minor issue was the Infrared Receiver is a little weak and the included adhesive is not good. I use my own 2 sided tape and it has held up. The receiver does not pick up IR commands from > 5 feet or so.

    Overall good quality
Finally installed the screen with the help of my buddy. Both of us find that the screen has good quality, kudos to Monoprice's quality standard. Because of the tricky DC trigger input jack, I am taking out 1 point off. Otherwise, the screen gives me the hi-end look and feel. Has some motor noise, not silent, but it gives out a smooth sound. Need to mount the optional IR dongle if it's needed, yet it comes with double-sided tape. I can't comment on the screen fabric as I haven't test drive the system yet, but even with no image, the screen is handsome looking!

    PROS: - Very sturdy frame
    - A TON of mounting hardware supplied for any type of possible mounting scenario
    - Screen is perfectly level to the frame, no adjustment needed
    - Both retraction and drop heights can be adjusted

CONS: - User/installation manual is poorly written
    - Tricky DC trigger control jack: the supplied cable has a smaller male plug on one end, while the other end is a male 1/8" plug which is not-standard as most projectors require female jack (-1 point)
    - IR dongle is not built-in, but it's considered optional
