Great price! I like the fact the shaft screw into the metal base, rather than kept in place by compression of a plastic bushing which breaks. I would like to see stronger material for the compression collar, since it cracks when tightening.
None of the included screws fit my speakers, though it's possible the holes in my speakers are not standard. But the included rubber washers were terrible, and disintegrated when I tightened the mount as instructed. it's possible these may work once I get the properly sized screws from a hardware store, but for now they're $15 paperweights.
PROS: inexpensive weighted base adjustable height
CONS: not durable needs more size options for included screws
I bought a pair of these for my computer room to mount some L/R surround speakers. Unfortunately my speakers were way too big and heavy for the stands. My speakers are about 10lbs each so I took a gamble in buying these knowing they're only rated for 5lbs hoping it might work but alas it did not. The stand could hold the speakers at the lowest elevation setting to about 1/3 the way up, but anything above that and the stand would tip over. Oh well that's what I get for trying to cheat the system!
I gave them to my buddy that has a small HTIB setup and he loves them.
PROS: Good amount of screws, grommets, and adapters.
CONS: Will absolutely not support larger speakers at ear level.
Looks kind of cheap, for the price what do you expect.
PROS: Has a heavy weight that keeps the speaker stand stable. Easy to move speakers up and down for best sound. Great price point. Did just as expected. Easy to put together.
CONS: My speaker wire came with a pre-attached connector, usually found in the cheaper systems, so I could not put the wire down through the stand like instructed. The wire hangs out the back of the speaker and it is no big deal. However, if you like your wires going through the back, you will have cut the wire.
