Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Earbuds Headphones with Built-in Microphone and In-line Controls Compatible with Android Devices

Get great sound and full compatibility with your Android™ device using this pair of Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Earphones with Built-in Microphone and In-line Controls from Monoprice!

These earphones feature 6.5mm magnets and an impedance of 16 ohms. They boast a 20Hz ~ 20kHz frequency response at 3mW, a 108dB sensitivity, and less than 5% THD at 1kHz.

The in-line control unit is where the microphone is located, along with the controls, which allow you to increase or decrease the volume, pause and resume playback, skip tracks forward, and to answer, terminate, or ignore incoming calls. They come with small, medium (installed), and large earbuds, so they will fit almost any sized ear.

Note that the in-line control is designed for Android devices using the CTIA standard, which places the ground on the second ring of the TRRS plug instead of the sleeve. This is the current standard used by almost all Android smartphones.

Note that when used with Apple® iOS® devices, only the volume controls will function on the in-line controller. If you have an iOS device, you should order the Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Earphones with Built-in Microphone and In-line Controls for iPhone®, iPod®, and iPad® V1.2 (PID 9980) instead.

Will these earbuds connect to my iPhone 7?
    Peter N on Jan 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, these earphones use a 3.5mm connection. You will need to look at our bluetooth wireless earbuds. 15273 or 15274

    I'd hoped for better
I bought this pair of earbuds on sale after having previously enjoyed other MP models that usually list for less. I'm very tough on earbuds and don't expect them to last long, which is why I stick to the budget ones from MP and, like most customers, I've typically been very happy with the price/quality ratio.

My disappointment with this model can be traced almost entirely to a single design flaw: The point on the cord immediately before the 3.5 mm plug is covered by a sheath of smooth, shiny metal about 1.5 cm long (not pictured on the product page). It looks pretty slick, and it literally is, which makes the process of unplugging the set from a device using bare fingertips an exercise in grasping several times for purchase that doesn't come easily at all. At first this is just annoying, but it becomes more critical when you discover that the adhesive holding the metal in place is often less strong than the force required to overcome the resistance of the jack. Result: the metal sheath comes loose and slips up the cord, exposing the connection just above the plug.

Now, the metal bit slips rather easily back into place, and I've managed to deform it through squeezing so that it more or less stays there. But I've also learned that I need to grasp the rubber behind the metal section, which allows me to remove the plug much more easily, but which I'm certain also places much more stress on the connection. It's already begun to exhibit the typical signs of failure (faintness in one ear, inadvertent disconnection when tapped lightly, false "play button" presses registering when plugged into laptop) much sooner than I've gotten used to expecting. I'm also concern that this flaw has compromised the static shielding of the unit, as evidenced by the sometimes-painful shocks that occasionally get delivered into my ear!

Fix this design flaw and sort out the play/pick-up/volume button capability and this would be a great product for the price. Until then, I'd advise potential buyers to browse the other quality options on this site.

PROS: - Decent sound & mic quality

CONS: - Control buttons don't function on Moto G

    - Poor plug design, resulting in:

    - Poor static shielding

    - False presses register when plugged into laptop

    - Accelerated failure

While I did not get to try out the controls, the earpiece looks and feels surprisingly solid for the price. Overall audio quality is about on-par for the price no bass response until they're cranked. Wire is thin and feels very fragile.

PROS: Price. Looks. Metal earpiece feels surprisingly solid for the price.

CONS: Flimsy, thin cable that feels like it'd snap if I snagged it. Lack of any kind of depth until the volume is turned up considerably.

    Good Stuff
Extra earbuds make for good fit- you get three sets (large, medium and small) Cord length is good- a bit longer than some others. Works great as a headset while I'm on the phone. Definitely noticed a difference over other headsets- I like to listen to rock when I am working, and the bottom end is there with this set. Can't speak for quality- only had 'em a couple of days, but so far, so good.

PROS: Very good sound quality. Good fit in ears.

    CONS: None yet!

    Good Enough
Honeslty for $10 after shipping, I am hard to pressed to say much in the negative. The sound is good, they have a nice feel to them, granted its cheap to add weight, but its still nice. I thought one earbud had more base than the other, but I've come to the conculsion that I am losing hearing in one of my ears...so ...you know. They work.

    Buy'em ..you wont be sorry.

PROS: Inexpensive. Has a nice weight to them. Good quality Sound. Microphone seems to work alright, along with toggle controls.

CONS: Uses round wire instead of flat, whcih makes them tangle easier. The wire casing is a slittle stiff, thus keeping the memory of its folded shape, making it look a little janky. It would be nice if the material would relax a bit, it would have a cleaner presentation when worn.

Very solid build quality. I'd expect to pay $25+ for these at an electronics chain. Mic controls allow pause and skip forward on most android devices

PROS: Very solid build quality. I'd expect to pay $25+ for these at an electronics chain. Mic controls allow pause and skip forward on most android devices

CONS: Dont last for ever. 6-9 months until one ear will stop working. My dog loves to yank these out of my ears when greeting me which is likely to blame.

    Great until it stopped working
The product sounds good, and worked well until about a month later when one of the earbuds has become intermittent.

PROS: The sound was very good, and I was very please with this product

CONS: One of the earbuds has become intermittent after about a month of use.

    Works with Nexus 5
Wish it had a "J" cord, but those have become rare these days.

    PROS: Works with Nexus 5

    Decent sound and build quality.

    CONS: None

    Very good headset
Sounds great, controls work perfectly with my OnePlus One and Phillips Headset by WOOX Innovations from the play store.

Click to stop/start, double click to skip forward, triple click to go back.

PROS: Price, sound quality, works with my android phones.

CONS: cable feels a bit cheap

Best headphones under $50, let alone $10
These headphones are amazing. I have been using them for a week now and I cannot find a single flaw with them. They have everything I could ask for - they stay in my ears, have incredible bass response, and they have a mic/in-line controls. And all for $6! Just incredible.

PROS: Very comfortable, great sound quality, microphone, in-line controls, adjustable sizes, very cheap!

Great Sound but poor quality structure of inline controls
These would be perfect ear buds without the inline audio controller. I found that I never even used the controller. After a while, the audio controller came apart into 2 halves, allowing the rubber boots, which keep slack on the wires internally, to pop free. They did continue to work for a bit after attempting to re-assemble. But the slightest tension back on the wire would just break it apart again. They currently no longer work. Bought 2/1/2015

PROS: The sound quality is exceptional. The ear buds are very comfortable with different sizes provided.

CONS: The inline audio controller encasement came apart.
