Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Noise Isolating Earbuds Headphones - Black

With its stylish design, these Monoprice earphones will prompt complete strangers to ask you where you got them, but you won't hear a word they say as you rock on down the highway!

Made with a noise-isolating design and producing clear and solid sound, these earphone are a great way to enjoy your favorite music from your iPod or other portable music device. They fit comfortably into the ears and produce solid bass notes and clear midrange tones, both normally a weakness in earphones, thanks to the large 14.2 mm driver unit. The package includes three different sized pairs of silicone earbuds, for a better, more comfortable fit.

The 48" cord terminates in a gold-plated 3.5 mm stereo plug, which connects to most popular music devices and phones, with better connectivity and corrosion resistance than the more common nickel and tin-plated connectors.

The end result is a pair of earphones that are made for the rigors of daily use from the music fan on the go! Amazing sound clarity, hard-rocking bass, and durability. Who could ask for more?

What? You want Aerosmith to play at your birthday party? OK, you CAN ask for more!

Note: For best results these earphones should be broken in by playing pink noise through them for about 24 hours. The difference in sound quality before and after the pink noise break-in period can be quite dramatic.

I bought five other Monoprice models just to be sure
Along with the 9927, I bought 5 other Monoprice earbud headphones just to test them and be sure the hype was true. The 9927 are the best of all of them and are really different category in terms of sound quality than the rest. I would rank and group the 6 models as follows for sound quality.

9927 - Excellent, clearly better than the rest.

9396, 8319, 9398 - All good enough for music, but not as clear as the 9927.

10154, 8322 - not bad, not not as good as the above.

Go with the 9927. No brain-er. Clearly better than the rest and unbeatable at this price.

PROS: Sound Quality, clarity, accurate sound stage

CONS: None at this price. If you can find better headphones at this price, let us know.

Long wait, but definitely worth it!
I was recommended these earbuds from the Lifehacker review, hailing them as the "best under-$100 earbuds". Seeing as I tend to be a bit rough or forgetful with my earbuds, I decided to give these a shot. WIth shipping, the order came to $11.40. I did not get a tracking number, as I chose the "small packet delivered via Canada Post".

The order shipped on March 28, and I received them this afternoon (June 13), a week after estimated delivery. I'm chalking that up to the wonderful Canadian customs service.

Packaging seemed a bit flimsy when opening (the opening flap was not taped down as these types of boxes usually are and tore it a little), but the actual buds were not damaged. The spare earpieces were in a small plastic bag.

Plugged the buds into my iPhone 4, and tested a song that had a decent range (Pentatonix & Lindsey Stirling's cover of Radioactive) with first no equalizer, then the "bass booster" setting and finally the "loudness" equalizer as one reviewer had said it sounded phenomenal when set to "loudness". Each time I switched equalizer settings I restarted the song to get the full effect. I then played the song through again while flipping through the three settings, and "loudness" is definitely the one to get the full benefit out of these buds. The song sounded better than ever, and while listening to "Drop Blocked" I had shivers going down my spine. Definitely a good sign!

I opted not to go with the burn-in that a few reviewers recommended...the buds sound fantastic with it and I don't currently see a need to. I may reconsider this.

The right bud falls out with the stock size (one that came attached already), but I intend to experiment with the different sized buds.I have not tried walking with them yet, but don't see it being an issue.

The fantastic thing about these earbuds is that if they do break, they won't require a bank robbery to get a replacement. In fact, that was one of features that drew me in.

Overall, I am very pleased with these buds and cannot wait to listen to my "get psyched" playlist as I walk to school tomorrow for my last exam of high school. Definitely glad to have made this purchase...no wait, investment!

PROS: - Great sound. Sends chills down my spine.
    - Low price means I'm not shelling out big bucks.
    - I like the look of these buds. Not sure why other reviewers have complained...personal preference I guess.
    - Fit comfortably in ear.

CONS: - Long delivery time, but likely due to Canadian customs.
    - When I have the buds in, the wire can be heard rubbing against my shirt. I don't notice it when music is playing, though.
    - The right earbud is falling out, but I'll experiment with different sizes.

    Earbuds
After breaking these in with about 40 hours of pink noise, they sound terrific, certainly much better than their price would otherwise indicate they should sound. The seem to be well-built. Definitely worth trying BEFORE you drop big bucks on a "name-brand" pair at a local retailer.

    PROS: Cloth covered cord.

CONS: Difficult to see "L" and "R", at least on the black pair, which I ordered.

These are BY FAR the best deal around for ear buds! They sound great! Cords kinda suck but at least they are covered in cloth. For $6-7 you simply can't even come close to these things. These sound better than my other buds that sell for about $50! An Ohh-My-God... killer deal, plain and simple...

    PROS: Sound, Price, Quality.

CONS: Wires Knott up all the time.

BEWARE will make sound quality of headphones you thought sounded good sound like crap.
Changed my view on "you get what you pay for" these are great and for the price you won't get a better deal.

PROS: The sound quality is amazing I spent 40 dollars on earbuds and i bought these for gym time... big mistake once i broke them in with 5 hours of pink noise the other buds have been collecting dust ever since.

CONS: Extremely uncomfortable (you get used to it)

Earbud tips need to be replaced (I used tips from the other buds)

    These are great!
The problem with earphones, whether you buy them in person or online, is that until you've paid for them you don't know how they'll sound or feel. You can buy them for five dollars or a hundred dollars, and I've seen two pair for a dollar at the dollar store. How do you know what's worthwhile?

The 9927s sound awesome. They're notably better than anything else we've used up to the 20 price point. The cords are the fabric-covered kind that don't tangle as badly. They look sharp. But the real test was my teenage daughter.

My daughter is picky about sound. She prefers over-the-ear headphones. She finds most in-the-ear phones uncomfortable. And she destroys earphones - through constant use she goes through a pair every two to three months.

She borrowed my 9927s three months ago and I never got them back. Good thing I ordered two pair. She likes the sound, finds them comfortable, and hasn't damaged them in the least.

I will buy more of these for the rest of the family and highly recommend them to everyone else.

PROS: Fantastic sound, nice cords, longevity.

    CONS: None yet.

can't beat these for the price
I purchased several pair and have been using these for at least a year, at the office and while bike riding. Unbeatable for the price and I have yet to have a pair break, which is unheard of for low cost earphones. I am a professional musician and I do have a pair of $500 Shure dual-driver in-ear monitor earbuds. I wouldn't say the Monoprice ones compare to THOSE, but I do know what good sound is....and you can't go wrong with these cheapos!

    PROS: Great sounding, cheap, durable

    CONS: none

    Best IEM for this price
I absolutely hate ear buds because they never stay in. I also don't like buds because the audio quality is normally worse as compared to over ear or closed headphones that are larger. These sound amazing so I don't mind using them for a lightweight solution like going to the gym or on the go. Again, I can't emphasize enough the quality of the sound in these. I have several pairs of headphones closed and opened and these are a must to add to your collection. I love this and will be buying more just to have everywhere.

PROS: They stay in your ear fine. They sound amazing for being a cheap IEM. The cloth cable covering makes it feel nicer and more durable. They warp around your ears and stay in better than normal earbuds

CONS: Nothing I have noticed so far

    Excellent item
The wrapped cord handles and stows better than the vinyl wire of the Skulcandy set.

PROS: These buds were recommended in the November 2014 edition of Men's Health magazine. They perform better than the Skulcandy set I use with my media player

    Great sound
I love these earbuds from the sound to the look and of course the price. I heard a lot about these earbuds and they do not disappoint. Gone get some more of these for backup and for some friends to try. The only downside is not being able to get some of these with a mic and volume control even for a few more dollars it would be worth it.

    PROS: -Crisp clear sound

    -Threaded cable

    -Unique design

    CONS: -Flimsy ear cushions

-Can be uncomfortable if not properly worn

    And by in ear cushion

-No mic and volume buttons options with
