    Solid but nothing special
I bought the Gigabyte Z270XP-SLI based upon the reputation of the company and the fact that this was my second Gigabyte purchase. My other computer was built using a Gigabyte motherboard and it is very reliable. I thought this would be far higher in performance with an Intel i7-7700k processor, 64 GB of ram, and a raid 5 array of 3 drives with 3.5 TB each and an M2 SSD which was PCIe based from GBX, their 480 GB SSD. But, the BIOS Version shipped out in this brand new motherboard was F2 and I had to flash it up to F6 to get it to even "see" the M2 slot. I still can't get the motherboard to boot from the SSD, it won't recognize the M2 slot first in the boot priority menu. So, I have the OS on the Raid 5 array and the M2 SSD along for the ride as an add-on. I have been dealing with Gigabyte Technical Support but they seem slow to respond and somewhat unwilling to fix it. We go back and forth and still no solution. I recommend this board for everyday use for a solid, dependable computer but not because it is special or high performing, because I can't get it to be the special board I thought it was going to be. I wish I had bought something else; I wanted high performance.
