Is this compatible with mac desk tops?
    Rich R on Aug 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's USB so, yes, it is compatible meaning it works. But keep in mind it has keys meant for use in Windows - like the Win key and others that have no purpose in Mac OS.
    How wide is this keyboard?
    A shopper on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This keyboard will be 18" wide.
    Does this have volume controls?
    A shopper on Dec 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No it does not. Only a key to turn on/off the backlite.
Does the caps lock key have a distinct illumination to indicate if it is enabled?
    Eric S on Jul 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There's an indicator in the upper-right area of the keyboard.. where that type of indicator normally is on keyboards. Absolutely.
Is it possible to have this turn on by default when the computer turns on (i.e. not have the user turn on the keyboard manually)?
    A shopper on Sep 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As far as I know the options to turn on the "Caps Lock", "Numbers Lock", or even the "Backlit Feature" would all be controlled in the BIOS of your motherboard. You'll have to reboot, hit the "F2" or "DEL" key several times while booting to get into the BIOS. At that point you'll have to look around to see if that option is available. It may or may not be available... depends on the BIOS of your motherboard. But you'll know you are in the right area when you locate the option to turn on or off the "Caps Lock" and "Numbers Lock". Hope that helps.
Is 58" considered short, average, or long for cable length?
    Johnny P on Jul 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, 58" is an average length, but whether that is short or long might depend on your setup. If connecting to a laptop or computer case that's on top of your desk, the cable would be long. It's probably just the right length if your computer case is directly below your desk. It might be short if the case is below the desk and towards the far corner, in which case you could get a USB 2.0 extension cable like Product 5432 if needed.
Is the power consumption 120 mA or less?
    Gabriel S on Nov 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, power consumption is less than 60mA when LED backlight is off, and less than 300mA with the backlight on. Hope this helps.

    Excellent for the price
I bought this strictly for the illuminated keyboard so I could work without a light on in the room. Yes, the keys are a bit mushy but I'm not gaming or a true typist so I will adapt. It would probably not be your 1st choice for those applications. For a no frills keyboard at this price point that's illuminated it cannot be beat.

The keyboard wobbled as I typed when I first got it. Very annoying. The body of the keyboard must not be straight because after removing the left and center front rubber feet, the keyboard was balanced and no longer wobbled. I re-positioned the rubber feet I removed a bit further back so the bottom of the keyboard does not touch my desk and now it's rock solid.

PROS: Illuminated keyboard functions well and looks cool

    Great price

CONS: Keys are a bit mushy and have a rubbery feel

Wobbled until I remedied the problem myself

    No frills of any kind

No way to change the angle of the keyboard

    Great bang for the buck
Not much more to say that others have not. This is a fairly solid keyboard that does a great job of lighting the keys without blinding the user. I had to laugh when I noticed there is an LED indicator light that tells you when the backlighting is turned on, the whole keyboard is glowing, why do you need a dedicated indicator light? Perhaps that effort should have gone into lighting just the light's on/off switch when the lights are off, so we can find the button in the dark.

I would absolutely purchase this keyboard again.

PROS: Nice backlight, pleasant blue color. Smooth operation.

CONS: Sometimes my "N" key sticks down - Not an issue, just something I noticed.

Great features, just a terrible keyboard to use.
Great disappointment, Keys stick, and the amount of effort to strike the keys is too much. Worst of all, most of the time when you hit the space bar, it doesn't work. Am looking for a new keyboard right now and will throw this one out. (note: spacebar didn't register three times writing this.)

    PROS: light

    CONS: see reviews.

Not all keys work (kind of a problem)
I opened the box and plugged in the keyboard. It lit right up as described and felt OK. However, I realized almost immediately that the whole number key row didn't work. It looks like all of the other keys are fine but, it's kind of hard to write an email when the @ key doesn't work!

    PROS: Inexpensive

CONS: The number row of keys don't work.

    5/5
The keyboard costs about the same as others and yet adds the back light option.

I wish someone made keyboards in white, off-white or light gray for seniors who have trouble seeing black keyboards.

PROS: Chiclet style keyboard keeps keyboard cleaner

Back light can be turned on or off

    CONS: None that I've noticed.

    Works great, I love it

PROS: easy to see the keys in darkened room

CONS: It would have been nice if it automatically lit up when you turn on the computer

    Solid value
These things could be good or bad depending on your preferences:

    — Keyboard is an odd small/mid-size form factor, larger than the laptops I've used but smaller than any keyboard that wasn't explicitly marketed as "small form factor." It was maybe a little too big for my 4-foot tall child, and maybe a little too small for me as a 6'4" adult.

    — Keys are depress and return softly in volume (quiet in operation) but also in force (little kinetic response to indicate the key has returned to an 'up' position). It's not a mechanical switch keyboard, obviously, but the keys are a little squishier than what I'm used to.

PROS: — LED is bright enough for clear legibility of keys, even after I accidentally put a 100W bulb in the light fixture above my computer.

CONS: — Backlight defaults to off whenever the computer powers down completely.

    OK, for price
Broke the deal when found no "vol control or mute" button for sound control.........

Keys are mushy. Hard to make contact. Space bar needs a hammer to "make it space".........

    PROS: Nice blue light.

CONS: Cramped, mushy feel to keys.

No volume up/down or mute. Deal-breaker right there.........

    poor quality keyboard
Arrived with at least 7 keys/buttons not working...funny thing it had a "QC" passed sticker lol. Wished it would have worked, but threw it out and bought a logitec at walmart.. Don't understand why they can't send out a replacement and let me toss it in the garbage its so cheap. Yaya blahblah credit from factory for return, but I'm not going to waste my time and gas to return mail it. not for a $17 keyboard. So you get this. Would give 0 stars, but I can't!!!!!

    PROS: excellent paperweight

    CONS: 7 keys don't work

    Bad Keyboard
As usual order was received very quickly. Unfortunately the keyboard back light function was DOA. No response from MonoPrice.

PROS: Good feedback from keys, easy to get up and running with USB

CONS: backlight function does not work
