Premium 3D Printer Filament PLA 1.75mm, .5kg/Spool Bronze

Get outstanding 3D printing results when you use 1.75mm PLA 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice!

PLA is a good choice for a printing material if you are looking for high accuracy and high resolution. It extrudes at lower temperatures, does not require a heated base, and has a very low shrinkage rate (0.3%). PLA is harder than ABS, but is therefore also a bit more brittle. Additionally, PLA is a plant-based plastic, which means that it is biodegradable and gives off a slightly sweet odor, like roasting corn.

This 0.5 kg spool features a thickness of 1.75mm ±0.05mm. It has a nominal processing temperature of 180 ~ 210°C (356 ~ 410°F). Thickness and roundness factors are laser measured at the factory to ensure accuracy over the entire length of the filament.

The negatives of using PLA is that it is vulnerable to degradation from moisture, sunlight, and heat. Additionally, it is more prone to overheating during processing, which can cause dripping and drooping if it gets too hot.

    Does it look metallic?
    Gary R on Jun 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it looks metallic. It is like there is a metallic dust inside the plastic, which gives my freshly printed pieces a metallic luster like a brushed metal object. I have not tried finishing it to a higher shine because I need it matte for my purposes
Does this have metal particles in the filament?
    A shopper on Jun 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This will only be made of PLA filament, there will be no metal particles in the filament.

    Good looking Bronze
Seems pricey, but as the first PLA filament I've used on my Creator Pro, its been awesome. Feels much more flexible than I've heard PLA is supposed to be. The temp I'm using is 200c and it is much more reliable than the ABS I have been using,
Hopefully others who may have run other PLA plastics can make comparisons, but as far as my experience with the Monoprice filament goes, it has exceeded my hopes. The finish on the completed parts is great,

PROS: Ease of use, finish and color are exceptional.

CONS: Seems Pricey, but I wanted good filament, spent it, and its been great,

    weak bonds at higher temps
I got a sample of this as part of the sample pack. http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=14392

Definitely don't use a temp around 220C. At that temp, the plastic just runs out of the 0.4 nozzle and retraction is useless as there's threads wherever the head moves without extrusion. The end result also adhered to the bed a little too well and had weak inter-layer bonding.

The color was much nicer than standard gold-colored filament, though, and I'm hoping to make it work better at a lower temp. I will try to update this review when I see success.

    Pricey, but looks fantastic.
The metallic finish is really outstanding. Prints like a dream. This is now my good filament for really special prints.
