Can I use just one of the print heads to replace the one on my Monoprice Mini IIIP?
    New User U on Dec 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If your heater blocks are the same, it's easy to use these separately. There's a socket head set screw holding the assembly to the aluminum bar. Just loosen it and you'll be able to slide the assembled heater block out.
Is this an upgrade for the Maker Select 3D Printer V2?
    A shopper on Mar 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not that familiar with the Maker Select series but in looking at a picture, it does not appear that the assembly replacement will fit.
Will this work with an original FlashForge Creator?
    A shopper on Feb 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Possibly but that's based on the similarity of the Monoprice dual and FlashForge machines. I have never seen the FlashForge in person so I can't say for certain. Ask this question on the 3D printer forums, lots of experienced users out there.
what voltage is this setup for? are these thermocouples or thermisters?
    phillip r on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is for 24 volts and I believe they are thermisters

Converted for use with Makerbot 2X.
So I purchased this as a replacement hot end for a Makerbot 2X replicator, knowing full well that it was not designed for that. It works, and makes prints that are much higher quality than I was getting with the stock makerbot parts. However, the process to get it to work was... involved. The silver bar that holds the extruder cold ends is ALMOST the correct size to just be mounted in the Makerbot, but the holes are about 1mm off.

So, I ended up removing the heater assemblies from the Monoprice version, but upon doing so the very very small setscrews stripped, requiring me to drill them out.

After I had gotten the heater elements free, I drilled out the small holes in the Makerbot silver piece, to allow the larger monoprice versions to fit. Next was soldering the wires to the existing ones, which went smoothly.

All in all, I would consider this a viable, low cost replacement for the makerbot hot end, though it takes some technical aptitude.

PROS: Partially compatible with Makerbot 2X

CONS: Setscrews stripped upon removal. Ridiculous torque on the 1mm buried setscrews.

    Great replacement for CTC Printer
Easy and quick replacement for the original assembly on my CTC printer. Printer is printing better than when new.

PROS: Shipped from US, quality seems high

CONS: More expensive than whole extruder assemblies on Ebay but US shipping and having Monoprice to call if there is a problem is worth it.

Works on Microcenter Flashforge clone Powerspec 3D Pro 2
Exact match for this Microcenter Flashforge clone. I bought 2 and will use one as a spare and have the original cleaned up and repaired as well. No issues at all and appears to be the exact same as the one that came on the printer by Flashforge.

Used on a Wanhao Duplicator 4S - hotend seems to perform better than the original. Great price!!!

PROS: Works great, heats quickly, fits great

CONS: Not really a con - but the connectors weren't perfect for my needs. I just had to swap some wires over.

    Powerspec 3D Pro
This was an exact replacement for the Powerspec 3D Pro. The plugs are color coded, so that makes it pretty much fool proof.

    PROS: It works

    CONS: None

They were able to help me find a part for a 3D printer and I did not know what I even wanted. That gets my attention pretty quick. Will absolutely shop here again.
