Does this 3d pen come with any filament?
    A shopper on Nov 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes! This would come with a small roll of low temp filament to begin learning how to use the pen. I would recommend picking up some PLA or another low-temperature filament so you can continue to print after you run out of the sample filament.

How long is the USB Cord?
    A shopper on Sep 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: About 4 to 6 feet (1 to 2 meters)...longer than what appears in picture, but not terribly long.
What are the dimensions of the 3D Pen?
    A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Roughly the length of a typical ink pen and the diameter of a roll of US quarters.
What type of filament is included?
    A shopper on Aug 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It’s called eMate. You can find more here on monoprice. My personal opinion is that it is similar to milk jug plastic (hdpe).
    How long do you wait?
    A shopper on Aug 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I haven't timed it, but it heats up to PLA temps in under 2 minutes.
    Is the tip replaceable?
BTW - Since you can't "Comment" on reviews - as a note to Jeffrey R's review where he says the PLA stays too pliable after making, I wonder if slow low temp baking would help, it's suggested by several filament makers for 3D printing ... 180° F for 2 - 3 hrs if I recall correctly. (Never tried it myself, but Google it)
    Robert M on Feb 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. No the tip is not replaceable on this unit, I apologize for the inconvenience. In regards to the "filament baking" it is not something we have tested and therefore we cannot recommend it.
My pen's display stays on 030 and does not heat up and I have tried to unplug and start over but it stays like that can someone help?
    A shopper on Jul 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem initially. Solution was to use a USB adapter that puts out more power. I'm now using one rated for 2.4A, and it works fine.

    love it
my 11-yo loves this pen. It took about 2 minutes to figure out how to use it (hint: slower is better) and after that he's making little zombie nerf targets.

I plan on purchasing at least one more in the near future !
I purchased a similar 3-D pen through gearbest and it was of very poor quality ! It continually jammed, had problems feeding material into it and also getting the filament out of it the one I purchased through Mono price is excellent !! super quality ,works great never jams has been performing very very well I don't think it needs any improvement at all !!! I am very happy with this purchase . ??

Fun and easy to use. I used it to help repair and finish some printed models. Works well with standard pla. I haven't used the other filament it came with. I've been using scraps left from other monoprice rolls of filament.

Bought 3 of these, they all work fine.
Good product. Not perfect of course. In my opinion the low temp filament is junk, throw it away. I use the same 1.75 mm PLA filament that I use in my 3D printer. The control buttons are small and slightly fussy, but not too bad. I set the temp at 175 to 185, and wait for the light to turn blue, then push the feed button. I think of the pen as an art project and my printer as an engineering project. Both fun to use. Good value. Filament does not stick to easter eggs, but you can cage them.

    Coolest new toy
Worked great right out of the box. Heats up quickly and feeds well. In many cases, it's faster and easier to use this to create a 3d model for someone else to draft than to draw it on paper or model it in CAD. Favorite thing I have bought in a long time. Everyone is impressed and wants their own. Easy and safe enough for my 5 year old to play with. More useful even than my 3d printer, I dare say!

    Kids LOVE this pen!!
Bought one for my 9 and 11 year old boys - they loved it so much we bought two more so they could each have one and to give one as a gift.
Easy to use - kids figured everything out in less than 10 minutes and were making stuff immediately.
Works consistently and maintains temperature without getting too hot.
Easy to feed and remove material to change colored filaments.
Uses the 1.75MM 1kg spools (we clip off about 2' lengths at time).
The instruction booklet was tiny but the PDF was online.
    > We remove the filament before the end of the material goes into the pen so we can pull out the entire piece to ensure it doesn't get clogged inside.
    > We always use same thickness and temperature filaments in one session to avoid clogging (the sample material that comes with the pen is lower temperature than the 1.75MM spool material and it clogged briefly when we switched from one to the other).
    Totally happy with the purchase.

    Great toy
I bought this device for a very bright 7 year old. He learned how to use it in 5 minutes. I'm only concerned that he might accidentally set it on high temperature, but he's not done that.

It's my son's first 3d pen, but it is a very great product. The temperature is adjustable and easy to use. He immediately started his project.

    I love These
I have 15 of these I use in my library maker space. They are really easy for the kids to use. We do have some fail safes, we don't let them change color, we keep the speed between 4-6. With that we get no clogs. After they get used to them we will give them more freedom.
I have a real expensive one and these are just as good, they work great. I also have another brand that gets too hot so I cannot let the kids use it. The temp on these pen is perfect. Unless you touch the white tip you don't feel the heat.
I work with K-6 grades. I have not had the Kinders use them yet, but I'm getting there. The other grades have no problems.
