Does this 3d pen come with any filament?
    A shopper on Nov 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes! This would come with a small roll of low temp filament to begin learning how to use the pen. I would recommend picking up some PLA or another low-temperature filament so you can continue to print after you run out of the sample filament.

    Is the tip replaceable?
BTW - Since you can't "Comment" on reviews - as a note to Jeffrey R's review where he says the PLA stays too pliable after making, I wonder if slow low temp baking would help, it's suggested by several filament makers for 3D printing ... 180° F for 2 - 3 hrs if I recall correctly. (Never tried it myself, but Google it)

BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. No the tip is not replaceable on this unit, I apologize for the inconvenience. In regards to the "filament baking" it is not something we have tested and therefore we cannot recommend it.
What are the dimensions of the 3D Pen?
    A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Roughly the length of a typical ink pen and the diameter of a roll of US quarters.
My pen's display stays on 030 and does not heat up and I have tried to unplug and start over but it stays like that can someone help?

    love it
my 11-yo loves this pen. It took about 2 minutes to figure out how to use it (hint: slower is better) and after that he's making little zombie nerf targets.

I plan on purchasing at least one more in the near future !
I purchased a similar 3-D pen through gearbest and it was of very poor quality ! It continually jammed, had problems feeding material into it and also getting the filament out of it the one I purchased through Mono price is excellent !! super quality ,works great never jams has been performing very very well I don't think it needs any improvement at all !!! I am very happy with this purchase . ??

Fun and easy to use. I used it to help repair and finish some printed models. Works well with standard pla. I haven't used the other filament it came with. I've been using scraps left from other monoprice rolls of filament.

    smaller than it looks!
Way smaller than I'd expected it to be and able to use common PLA filaments so it's super versatile, this was a great gift purchase for a friend and they adore it!

Bought 3 of these, they all work fine.
Good product. Not perfect of course. In my opinion the low temp filament is junk, throw it away. I use the same 1.75 mm PLA filament that I use in my 3D printer. The control buttons are small and slightly fussy, but not too bad. I set the temp at 175 to 185, and wait for the light to turn blue, then push the feed button. I think of the pen as an art project and my printer as an engineering project. Both fun to use. Good value. Filament does not stick to easter eggs, but you can cage them.

I am definitely new to using 3D printing of any sorts, but this was fairly simple to pick up and use. An idea of what temps/speeds would be nice to have in the instructions, but manageable for now.

    Sloppy
I bought a roll of well reviewed PLA to use with this pen. The pen keeps oozing pla long after letting off the advance button. This makes for sloppy use.. its impossible to draw up and let it harden before pulling it away becuae it keeps coming out. Makes the work surface sloppy too. Running it at 193C for PLA rated at 190-220C. Ill update my review if i learn otherwise but the instructions didnt help.
The included low temp stuff works fine. By the way.. nowhere in description or instructions or packaging does it mention the sample is low temp plastic.

Neat idea but like 3D printers it's a little gimmicky
It's a little gimmicky, but still pretty fun to use by itself. I imagine it's more purposeful to touch up 3D printed objects, but you can still trace out patterns and shapes on wax paper to "build" stuff. The PLA stays too pliable even once cooled to the touch and is a little too globy to actually make anything 3D. For the kids? I dunno. Price is okay for what it is.
