We ordered this ink along with the other colors for our Epson CX5000. The fit was good and we had no issues with the printer not recognizing the ink. It printed just like the ones from epson that we have bought in the past. This ink cartridge lasted as long as the name brand did. I would buy this again.
I ordered a full set of this ink for my Epson NX415 - one black and one each of the three colors. At first I really happy as the printer took all four without complaint. The first few pages were off in color but after that the color quality was not bad the black printing was good.
Unfortunately about the fourth time I turned the printer on after installing these I received an error message of "ink cartridge not recognized". The printer will not give you the option to print without that color, or even print in greyscale or black and white (it was magenta that errored out).
I hoped it was just a bad cartridge or one off mistake so I ordered another single magenta and replaced it in the printer, and the same error message appears. I have tried everything I could find online open cartridge chamber, unplug printer, reseat cartridge, turn back on. I even tried something I found suggesting to put tape over certain contact strips on the cartridge, and a few other odd things that a search pulled up. Nothing worked - the printer will not print anything until I replace it with a legitimate Epson cartridge.
Maybe worth a try just because it's so inexpensive, but be prepared that you may well be throwing your money away. I'll suck it up and pay the $40 for a Epson branded set instead.
PROS: Very good price Color quality is decent
CONS: Random errors of "ink cartridge not recognized"
My apologies for the problems you are having with the ink cartridges being recognized in the printer. One thing you may want to try is replacing the cartridges one at a time. When taking them out and placing them back in the printer one at a time then hitting ok once the cartridge is accepted, proceeding with the next cartridge with the same process. This one remedy that often works and can be done with both new or remanufactured cartridges.
The other solutions you mentioned you tried should have also resolved the issue of the cartridge not being recognized. Here is another resetting option that may also help if you haven't tried this particular method.
Step 1 Locate the control panel of your Epson printer. It is usually on the top right-hand side of your printer, near any digital display screen that the printer may have, and where the button used to turn the computer on and off is also located. Find the button marked "Pause/Reset," "Reset/Continue" or "Reset" on the row of buttons on the control panel. Skip to Step 3 if your model of Epson printer does not have a reset button.
Step 2 Hold the "Reset" or "Pause/Reset" button down for at least three seconds to clear the print job and reset your printer so you can start printing again.
Step 3 Press the "On/Off" or "Power" button to turn your printer off if your model does not have a reset button, and press it to turn your printer on again after a few seconds.
Step 4 Try printing again. Repeat Step 2 or 3 again if you still experience printer errors and attempt to print one additional time. Update your drivers and check your document for errors if you still cannot print the document you were trying to print before you needed to reset your computer.
If this doesn't help and you are still having issues we do have a 30 day return policy and I can issue an RMA for a return, I would just need an order number to get the process started.
