I have been skeptical regarding refurbished toner cartridges for some time, so much so that I had never tried them before. With the price of laser toner exceeding my wishes for some time, however, I decided to try out the offerings at Monoprice, whose equipment I've almost never had any problems with. Much to my delight, their product has been working just like new now since its March delivery and installation into our printer. A great product at a great price - what could possibly be more wished for!
I've been using re-manufactured toner for years without a problem. The cost is a third of the name brand and it works just as well. Monoprice's prices are in line with similar products on ebay and I know what I'm getting with Monoprice. Would definitely recommend if your printer is at least a year old (less than a year can void your warranty).
I wanted to wait until I had killed at least one of these cartridges before I reviewed. Now the toner is finally telling me its low and I've managed to knock it around a bit to loosen the toner so it will get the last drudges of that as well. It's been two months since I installed it and I run checks on it every week and print constantly. I'm impressed, it performed insanely better than any cheaper alternatives I have purchased so far and equally well to the brand name. Perhaps even better since it seemed to run out less frequently, but that could just be a volume difference.
PROS: seems to last a bit longer than the brand name no smudging or smearing when its near it's final bits of toner, performs equally to the $75 per cartridge brand name toner.
CONS: this is the first one I've used, so I reserve the right to alter my opinion but so far I have not seen any cons.
I bought 2 of these to use in my printer at school - I pay for these printing supplies out of my own pocket and since I go through around 4 of these toners a year -that is a steep price out of my pocket. I was thrilled with the cost of these and Monoprice has always had excellent quality on all of the items I've purchased over the years. But these remanufactured toner cartridges are not up to Monoprice standards. Lesson learned.
I'll probably only deal with Monoprice manufacutred products in the future.
PROS: Price and the right size
the first 2 days
CONS: On the third day it stopped delivering toner
If you need a USB extension cord to connect one device to another that's a little to far for the cord to reach, this product works great. Have used many without a single problem. And Monoprice's price is unbeatable. Win-win.
