http://www.monoprice.com/findtoner said this would work with my printer, and indeed the model number matches the Brother model number, but the printer does not recognize it at all. I'm trying to get monoprice to swap it out for the LC103 version that now says "New Chip Updated Sept 2015" to see if that will work, but the agent I chatted with was very unhelpful, so we'll see if they can figure out how to do an exchange.
CONS: Didn't work with my printer ("cannot detect" message, printer refuses to do anything when this cartridge is installed). And leaked a bunch when I opened it and pulled off the little pull tab to install it.
I sincerely apologize for this inconvenient experience. I was able to locate both chats and have forwarded the last one to our chat lead to be addressed. Regarding the cartridges, they should be working with your printer. Just to verify, were you able to test the other cartridges after the last chat? If not, can we try one of each color just to see if there is a difference? Also, please test them one at a time. Looking at the RMA, I see that it was set up for replacements. Unfortunately we would be unable to exchange the cartridges for the LC103 models. We can only replace items for the exact same PID originally ordered. If you would like to try the other ones still, I can switch that to a refund instead. Please let me know how you would like to proceed and I hope this helps!

These ink cartridges are a great buy.
I've been using these for over a year and haven't had any problems. Since they're high-yield they last a long time. I have not yet seen any of the ink fading in photos over time.
These are my go-to cartridges and I've always got a few extra on-hand.
