24-Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch, Rackmountable
This 24-port Fast Ethernet Switch is a professional networking switch that conforms to the IEEE802.3 10Base-T Ethernet and IEEE802.3u 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet standards. The rack-mountable, 24-port design is perfect for use as a network switch for stack of servers or as a distribution switch to a roomful of server racks.
This device is designed to be mounted into a server rack, and features front panel RJ-45 LAN connections, as well as front-panel link/activity status LEDS. the switch is powered by a standard AC 3-prong equipment cable and has an on/off rocker switch on the back panel. A green LED on the front panel indicates when power is applied.
Although it is designed for professional, power networking applications, installation is as simple as plugging the unit into a power source inserting Cat5/Cat5e STP or UTP cables into the ports. The switch automatically detects the use of straight (MDI) or crossover (MDIX) cables and switches the connection to whichever is needed for the connected device. Therefore any of the twenty-four ports can be connected to the upstream hub or router and the others connected to downstream servers, hubs, or other switches.
This network switch has an integrated 8K MAC address table and supports MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging. All ports can automatically diagnose half-/full-duplex modes and a dynamic buffer area automatically allocates to perform real-time network load balancing. The switch also examines error frames and adjusts itself as necessary to ensure reliable data packet transfers.
With all speeds, connections, and functions automatically configured and supported, there is no manual configuration or setup required. Simply plug it in and start using it right away!

why do they force prospective customers to zoom the picture to read the name from the front panel?
I've used Netis wireless and wired networking components and find them reliable and good quality
(minor point, perhaps) also, the description states it's designed for "power networking applications" which some might infer that it can be used to *supply* power to PoE devices, yet the specs don't state that
