I want to bind cables together, but also adhere the bound cables to the underside of a desk. Could I put a strip of adhesive hook (or loop) material on the desk surface and have the wrapped cable bundles hang from it?

BEST ANSWER:I’d fasten pieces to underside of desk with small screws. Adhesive probably wouldn’t be great vertically
PROS: Price. Only when buying massive quantities can you come close to the value of the product. It is as described, but having used many other brands you can feel a difference in quality. The nap of the loop side is high and the hook is pretty aggressive. That combination means that it loses the tighness fairly quickly unless you have lots of overlap. I know this might be overly critical- I'd certainly buy this again for clients, but for my needs I'd rather pay a bit more for more durability.
I have ordered this before and it was hook on one side and loop on the other, just like the individual ties that you wrap cable with. What I received was one roll of hook and one roll of loop which means you have to cut a length from each role to make a connection. Time consuming and tedious.
PROS: It got here
CONS: Not as described. It's hook and loop alright, but one role of hook and one roll of loop.
I ordered this hook and loop tape MANY times before from Monoprice, and up until now it was fantastic quality for the price. This newest shipment (purchased through a work account) included blue and black rolls of the same part number, but the quality is absolutely terrible. The new tape is thin and does not stick well. I still have some of the older rolls and the size of the roll is much different due to the thickness of the tape (both are 5 yards). It seems like someone in the supply chain tried to pull a fast one here, and I'm not sure that it was Monoprice, but the result is still a very low quality product delivered to the customer. I contacted customer support and told them the story, and they replaced the order with new ones of the same low quality. I will not be buying this again, for work or for home. I hope this is not a new trend at Monoprice that would be sad.
Overall this product does what "fastening tape" does. Note that you'll need to overlap it a bit more than you may initially think to get a solid grip. This caused me to almost double wrap small bundles of cords (1") and use more than I had hoped.
PROS: Meets the need for the price
CONS: Not very "sticky." Needed considerable overlap to get a good adhesion.
