Good basis for keystone banana/screw terminal with banana/screw terminal in back
Perfect for making banana/screw terminal keystone jacks that are also connected via banana/screw terminal connecin in the back (instead of by soldering, which is AFAIK the only typ Monoprice sells).
Get a lid-type banana terminal wall plate (e.g. 3640 for 4 terminals - not the pseudo-decora style like 3325). Unscrew the terminals from the back, and install on hex insert using the white washer rings off the wall plate. The washer rings on this type of wall plate is what makes them work, as all the terminal are too long in the center to fit tightly on a keystone hex insert, but this type of wall plate is thin like a keystone and uses the loose rings to make the terminals fit. (This also explains why the wall plate looks like a 10 hole universal fit piece except only the 4 used holes are thickened with the rings - it makes sense once you realize the rings are loose.)
PROS: Fits/matches Monoprice or other keystone cover plates as well as any other hex-based Monoprice keystone module (so look at those reviews for fit/color/etc.).
CONS: Fits/matches Monoprice or other keystone cover plates as well as any other hex-based Monoprice keystone module (so look at those reviews for fit/color/etc.).
CONS: I order white and receive white, but the white of the plastic is not the same has in wall plate, blank insert for f type connector or toolles ethernet keystone. A difference in the color is noticable but nothing too much. They do their job.
